[PASSED] Repeal "Protecting Native Prairies & Grasslands"

Anyone with any sort of environmental sense can see right through this for what it is... a Trojan horse against the environment! I would not be surprised if this was supported by all the pundits whose pockets are filled with money from corrupt corporations who want to do nothing but build, build, build! The people of Waldenes firmly OPPOSE this nefarious attempt to repeal such a righteous law! In fact, more legislation should be written to protect more endangered biomes!”

Perhaps there exist reverse-orcs: member states that are so obsessed with feel-good legislation that they will destroy themselves and other members to see the "environment" protected. Perhaps we should also raise the quality of life by dismantling all residences that don't provide at least 100 square meters of living area and 100 Mbps wifi per inhabitant.

"While I understand your frustration at such an utterance, Ambassador, as I felt it too, the Ambassador from Waldenes has fortunately seen the light and received a thorough explanation why their initial stance and viewpoint on our repeal proposal were incorrect. As can be seen from the way the vote is unfolding, a vast majority of the World Assembly will not be fooled by "feel-good" legislation if its flaws are pointed out and revealed. In the end, masks always fall off."

Maria vyn Nysen notices the Ambassador, smiles, and walks over with her arms loosely crossed. "Rest assured, our delegation is equally pained about the fact we have to repeal environmental legislation. Yet whether something is meant to protect the environment or not, if it causes more damage than it offers protections, it must be removed and replaced. For example, one wouldn't wear armour that would significantly harm the wearer while offering protection, no?" she sighs a little theatrically.

"Yet I speak as if you had voiced your opposition, when you shared your approval and support. Our delegation is most grateful," she says, looking over at the clock.

"And as the vote is turning out, the resolution remains in force for only a few more hours. It will be a relief to all member nations once the vote ends, I believe."

Daarwyrth's repeal of GA#553 attracted 89.04% support, making it 2021's most popular resolution so far. The last resolution by a first-time GA author to received as much relative support was World Assembly Central Library Compact (by The United Royal Islands of Euramathania), which got 90.23% of the vote back in March 2017.

Glad to hear a replacement is in the works, as I too am in favor of further environmental protection as long as the text of such resolutions are appropriate
