Other than that, it's a really good draft ^_^ Full support from me; Jack's one of the nicest and most supportive people I've ever met and were really patient with a noob like me along with GK when I joined TGW.

Moon, go become Delegate of a GCR and then tell me the same thing.

That shit takes work.

Can confirm, it takes a lot of work. But not commendable in itself at all.

If running a big region is in itself commendable, then every single delegate of a big region will have a commend badge. Deadeye Jack has more accomplishments than that which to me is a good nominee for a commend.

Deadeye Jack is the greatest nation in the history of NationStates, PERIOD. To run over the character limit would be just scraping the tip of the iceberg that is Jack's contributions to the world. The world was worse before their arrival and it will be worse again when they depart. Full support. Mods should make an even better Commendation Badge and use it on that nation.

Helped shape legislation to transition The Rejected Times (TRT), the long time newspaper of TRR, away from the portfolio of an Officer of Media to the control of the newly independent The Rejected Realms Media Corporation. This transition enabled TRR to establish the position of Officer of World Assembly Affairs which builds engagement in TRR’s community with this very Assembly.

There's nothing here that particularly mentions the turmoil of the whole situation.

Perhaps this:

Guided the Rejected Realms through its tumultuous and difficult process of rearranging the executive branch to create a World Assembly office. The transition, which consisted of moving management of the Rejected Times from an officer position to a new, dedicated Editor-in-Chief role, was the result of a long, but necessary, series of legislative debates that Deadeye Jack sparked and guided,

I'm not sure, but I don't think the current clause really reflects the painfulness of the scenario. It's currently a surface-level recounting of events.
I'm reaching out to some other sources to verify this before I integrate this kind of change into the draft. What you propose is to change the draft from my understanding of history based on public records to something slightly different, so I'd rather do some confirming.

The stuff I've had to omit due to the character limit can actually be used, combined with the work Jack does in the interim, in a year or two for Commend Jack #2.

I hope you're not implying that I'm not a credible source. Not only was I an officer and an active member of TRT at the time, but I created the WA office with Jack. I had access not only to the public resources you're viewing, but also #trt (where I actively debated the topic), #officers, #cabinet, #citizens, #world-assembly, and dms with other involved players, including Jack. While Jack and I were going through preliminary discussions for the WA office— recruitment, services, etc— we were also brainstorming how to restructure the executive without violating TRR's constitutional four-officer requirement (we would've had five). Previous attempts had the WA office as a subset of Outreach, but that only worked during Pharcyde/Milograd's term (his WA management was more focused on scripting).

I'm not going to leak without his permission, but I'm currently looking back on dms with Jack prior to and during the event, and it seems to coincide with what I said. I understand that the thread implies that the goal was to restructure Media, but that was only a byproduct of us trying to fit five offices into four slots without causing a blackhole. If there's anything in particular that you believe to be incorrect, I'd be happy to clarify.

First of all, I want to clarify this is no intended slight against you. Commendations are documentations of history, an ideological discourse of events that have happened in the past. As a result, I take the task of deciding how to construct one seriously. I don't think it's absurd to gather more perspectives and evidence. I apologize for any offense.

Second, I have updated the draft with some changes, which I hope will address your comments.

I intend to move this to last call over the weekend unless there are substantial additional comments/feedback

Going to move this to last call with intent to submit next weekend/early next week. I'll also be trying to take some time with the draft every day in the next week for writing/stylistic improvements.

Thanks to everyone who's given feedback so far!

Yet you support other, crappier ones that made it to voting before. This one is very well-written.

It isn't celebrating a raider, so naturally it doesn't carry Tin's vote.

Recommended to Dilber that TWP support this Commendation. It’s a very good piece of work HS and the nominee is entirely deserving.

Can't say I really support it, but it'll likely pass, and it's certainly a technically skilled proposal.

Glad to have the West's support on this! Thanks for the kind words

Deadeye Jack, formerly known as Gun-toting Animals, is an icon, a legend, and he is the moment, come on now.

I am aware, that good luck was not meant to be taken in a sarcastic tone.
