Whatever low standards you've imagined in your head for the SC, this proposal doesn't even meet those.

This is a self-commend in Liberation's clothing, and in a perfect world it will get smashed at vote. We don't live in a perfect world, so it may pass and need to be repealed.

I honestly wish there was a way to condemn those involved in TEP's fall from grace without rewarding them with the notoriety for it. A delegate whose carelessness allowed OOC issues to go out of control. A delegate that erased the region's culture and tried to coup. Now, a delegate with a foreign policy of "lol whatevs" and a WA policy of "lol whatevs". The East Pacific is an ongoing disaster, and I'm pretty sure it's only going to get worse.

I'm pretty sure the Pacifics' delegates decide every proposal's fate so yeah we're gonna have to repeal and I'm willing to join you in doing so

Reminds me of CCD's self-commends. Hopefully it goes in the same bucket they do.

Looking up the rules, joke proposals are illegal to submit in the first place. This should never have made it to vote and should be submitted for mod review.

I believe most current mods don’t consider it within their job to label a proposal as a joke or not.

Regardless, I’m against.

The GCR delegates actually don't have a controlling share if the vote. Just because you don't like a proposal doesn't mean that there was some sort of cabal of Pacfician delegates that want it to pass.

Though again, I expected this to be stomped into the ground. The joke was funnier the first time.

Basically, yeah. They believe that the voters should decide what constitutes a passing piece of legislation, whether it's a joke or not a joke. I'm also against, and Ransium was made aware earlier today of possible "plagiarism" between this resolution and the previous Liberate TEP in the beginning and ending of the resolutions.

Wait, this actually survived until the voting? O_O
On the previous time when I looked at it, it either had 69 approvals or needed 69 more approvals.

A few mods took an unofficial look before this came to vote.

It may seem like that, but speaking as a private citizen in TEP, I think we know what we're doing and refuse to engage with the personalities in GP. The toxicity is quite palpable.

EDIT: @everyone saying this is a waste of time: What worthy proposal did TEP shove out of the queue by voting on it? There probably won't be another resolution up for a couple days, if not a week, so this is what you get on the meantime.

Against. Absolutely against. It's a badge hunt, a joke, and a self-liberation for no reason whatsoever.

the leader of the region, who was "called out" in the proposal, has telegrammed me, asking me to vote for the liberation of the region. Seems fishy, no?

It's a joke, a waste of time, and nothing but a self admitted ploy to grab a badge for the region. It's a slow legislation day but that doesn't mean our time has to be taken up by inane posturing for a self commendation.

I'm voting that this is a stupid waste of time, not voting is the same as voting for it.

Welcome to the World Assembly in general. Don't read the debate, don't read the resolution; just look at the number of votes and vote on whatever's popular.

South Acren wrote:I am so confused on why this is actually getting alot of votes. Not saying I'm against, I voted yes the moment I caught on to what i assume is a joke. But my question here is why do they want a Liberation, I don't think a badge saying they were Liberated by the Security Counsel would be worth the joke. But who knows, I dont pay attention to TEP's politics or their citizens. For.
Edit: As I think about it. It is quite silly.

It's giving off the illusion of getting a lot of votes; in reality, a WA Delegate's vote is weighed based on how many endorsements they have, so this could just very well be a couple of powerful delegates voting this way or that. Now that I see it's literally by the region's delegate I kind of want to vote for it, just so it stands as a testament to how ridiculous this situation is and how it somehow got through quorum without anybody reading it.

Checking the "Show Delegate Votes" screen shows that the majority of individual nations have voted for.

I'll leave that up to interpretation.

My personal guess? Lemmings.
