Security Council Proposal
ID: marrabuk_1583148697

Liberate The East Pacific
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region.

Category: Liberation

Nominee (region): The East Pacific

Proposed by: Marrabuk

Asserting that liberation proposals such as this one can be written to have a symbolic, rather than practical effect, and that liberations can be targeted at regions without "Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry,"

Believing that The East Pacific, under the Tyrannical leadership of Marrabuk, has stooped to such horrendous levels that a liberation is fitting,

Concerned that the region has chosen to shelter infamous nations like A mean old man,

Disgusted by the region's willingness to give second chances to infamous nations,

Distressed at their willingness to work with raider organization known as Lone Wolves United after that region's original founder Fedele tried to coup them,

Annoyed at their unwillingness to learn from their past mistakes,

Sympathizing with the residents of The East Pacific to have an incompetent delegate Marrabuk as their leader,

The Security Council, by the advice and consent of the Delegates and member nations thereof, does hereby, in the name of the ever-knowing Violet, Liberate The East Pacific.

Ten bucks says the decision not to draft this one on the SC forum before submitting was a conscious decision to escape any commentary, but that's not how things work :)

Another ten bucks says that if said proposal fails to meet quorum or gets shut down, we'll get to see TEP loudly declaiming that clearly letting a known subversive in and straight-up letting the person who couped them a couple months ago join on a military operation isn't actually so bad after all, if NS as a whole doesn't care enough to Lib them for it.

I haven't commented on it either way beyond helping with drafting.

Given the low standard to which the SC sub-forums have fallen, there isn't much reason to post drafts here.

It would be a terrible shame if the SC let TEP’s current leadership get away with all this. Almost as bad as when they decided not to condemn Wrektopia. Dark days indeed. Very sad.

As our region's WA minister, I am well aware that this is not a joke proposal.

I think he means posting them here before submitting them doesn't really change whether or not people will approve them which I kind of agree with.

Still good to post them here first if you need feedback on it for possible changes but he didn't want to change it.

Makes no difference either way since they don't have a password which is why I approve it just for the heck of it.

Why was this even allowed to go to vote? Judging by the list resolutions it seems to be a slow legislation day but this is a waste of everyone's time. Even as a joke, it falls flat and doesn't do much for anyone who wasn't here in 2018 for the first time this happened. If anything, condemn them for wasting everyone's time and tying up mandatory voting time that could be put towards more pressing concerns.

Queen Ashley struggles to hold in her laughter, partly because this whole thing is ridiculous, and partly because she has tea in her mouth and she'd rather not get it all over her seat.

OOC: Symbolic liberations? Are you kidding me? This entire sect of the World Assembly was a mistake. There's a type of proposal for condemning regions, and it's called a condemnation. Next time, have your proposal posted as a draft first so that people can shoot it down for the dumpster fire it is so that you can actually make adjustments instead of rushing it through.

Or even better, deny them the badge they're craving so bad lol. It's so annoying, if Marra&Co manage to actually vote this through I'll be looking forward to the repeal.

I will happily vote that in with you. Better yet, couldn't this be declared illegal or at least superfluous seeing as how there is no liberation actually needed since it's both password free and a feeder region anyway? This is a time that I wish that the World Assembly could actually apply to the damn Security Council to keep this prissy nonsense in check, as they shouldn't even be allowed to pass resolutions that target their own regions. We need more stringent rules for Security Council. At the very least, this resolution proves that a lot of people don't even read what's up for vote before voting on it.

I am so confused on why this is actually getting alot of votes. Not saying I'm against, I voted yes the moment I caught on to what i assume is a joke. But my question here is why do they want a Liberation, I don't think a badge saying they were Liberated by the Security Counsel would be worth the joke. But who knows, I dont pay attention to TEP's politics or their citizens. For.
Edit: As I think about it. It is quite silly.

Whatever low standards you've imagined in your head for the SC, this proposal doesn't even meet those.

This is a self-commend in Liberation's clothing, and in a perfect world it will get smashed at vote. We don't live in a perfect world, so it may pass and need to be repealed.

I honestly wish there was a way to condemn those involved in TEP's fall from grace without rewarding them with the notoriety for it. A delegate whose carelessness allowed OOC issues to go out of control. A delegate that erased the region's culture and tried to coup. Now, a delegate with a foreign policy of "lol whatevs" and a WA policy of "lol whatevs". The East Pacific is an ongoing disaster, and I'm pretty sure it's only going to get worse.
