The World Assembly Security Council,

  1. Recognizing [nation=long]Tinfect[/nation] as an interstellar power;

  2. Noting that in the upper crevices of the notoriously fascist regime is a frightening bureaucracy and meticulous organization, ruled over by the Praetor Imperium Irrell Levant, shrouded in mystery and conspiracy;

  3. Further noting that Tinfect, having written a multitude of General Assembly Resolutions (listed below), should maintain a certain level of decency;
    1. GAR#339: Repeal: "World Space Administration";
    2. GAR#364: Repeal: "Cyber Security Convention";
    3. GAR#420: Protection of Biomedical Research (via the nation Tinfect diplomatic enclave, and later replaced with another resolution of the same name);
  4. Dismayed that, despite being a prolific wanderer of the halls of the General Assembly, Tinfect remains in a near-constant state of disdain or outright noncompliance in regards to a multitude of General Assembly Resolutions, most notably:
    1. GAR#38: Convention Against Genocide;
    2. GAR#84: A Ban On Forced Disappearances;
    3. GAR#430: Freedom of Religion;
  5. Particularly appalled at the gruesome genocides within Imperial history, especially the Aeravahn Genocide, Purge of the Exterior, and the continued enactment of lebensraum via the so-called Exterior Territories;

  6. Believing that, despite occurring before entry into the World Assembly, the complete and utter lack of reparations or show of remorse through any public forum towards the horrid genocidal atrocities committed by the Imperium shows that the Imperial Government would not hesitate to commit another such atrocity again, should an appropriate opportunity arise itself and the Imperium have the slightest bit to gain from it;

  7. Disturbed that Tinfect's economy and industry are built almost entirely off of the grounds of the genocide of the various former inhabitants of the Exterior Territories;

  8. Further noting the imperialism imposed on neighboring nations to the Imperium, including those far less technologically advanced;

  9. Believing that the existence of the Imperial Intelligence (a sect of Tinfect's government which is incredibly secretive) is directly responsible for the deaths and disappearances of a number of Imperial residents - both regular citizens and high ranking government officials - in violation of General Assembly restrictions on forced disappearances and capital punishment;
    1. Especially concerned by the replacement of nearly the entire high-level Imperial government following the destruction of the Hathien colony through the use of a planet cracker, including the appointment of Irrell Levant, a former member of the Imperial Intelligence, as the Praetor Imperium;
  10. Concerned by the seemingly arbitrary borders set by the Imperium, which may or may not infringe upon the claims of other nations, and the constant lingering threat that arises from Tinfect's unnecessarily large military;
    1. Noting the creation of a "Subspace Barrier" by the Imperial government, which effectively keeps out all foreign eyes and allows the isolationist nation to commit their atrocities without international interference;
  11. Further concerned by the utter sprawl of the Imperial military, and its unclear policy regarding military contact;

  12. Believing the treatment of religious individuals in its territory to be completely unacceptable, showing only the bare minimum amount of tolerance towards those sharing beliefs or belief systems different from the Imperium's;

  13. Worried all around about the lack of public accountability from its government as a whole;

  14. Concluding Tinfect and all its branches to be a society bordering on dystopian, stopping only where necessary to maintain a relatively positive public image; and

  15. Determined to rid it of the utopian image so carefully maintained by the Imperial government;
Hereby Condemns [nation=long]Tinfect[/nation].

"Having worked with the Imperium on several occasions has led me to believe no candidate more deserving of condemnation. While I'm aware that the mere creation of any such proposal will not lead to my good graces with the Imperium, it is a necessary step I must take to ensure the appropriate label be put on the vile nation that is the Imperium."

OOC:
Alright, this is my first real go at some SC work. I don't think it's terrible, but it obviously needs some work. Let me know.

The [nation=long] BBCode does work in the actual WA, just not on the forums. It looks like this in the WA:

I believe everything here is accurate, but let me know if anything is inaccurate or if I should add something. The #1 thing I know I need to improve, though, is the formatting and (maybe) clear up any rules I broke - I think I managed to avoid broken rules but I'm also new at this.

Thanks!

EDIT: Following some confusion in the discord, I feel I should clarify: This is not actually submitted, yet. When it is, I will change [Draft] to [Submitted].

Some examples of Tinfect's RP:
Overview which just about everything in the proposal was taken from
Some OOC stuff that helps facilitate knowledge

The World Assembly Security Council,

  1. Recognizing [nation=long]Tinfect[/nation] as an interstellar power;

  2. Noting Tinfect's presence in the halls of the General Assembly, especially as an author of several resolutions, such as:
    1. GAR#339: Repeal: "World Space Administration";
    2. GAR#364: Repeal: "Cyber Security Convention";
    3. GAR#420: Protection of Biomedical Research (via the nation Tinfect diplomatic enclave, and later replaced with another resolution of the same name);
  3. Acknowledging the Imperium's surprisingly high amounts of basic civil liberties;

  4. Knowing, however, that in the upper crevices of the notoriously fascist regime is a frighteningly efficient bureaucracy and meticulous organization, ruled over by the Imperial Grand Praetor Irrell Levant, shrouded in mystery and conspiracy;

  5. Dismayed that, in spite of being the creator of the "Member's Assembly For International Accountability" - an organization created in order to encourage and ensure compliance of the General Assembly - Tinfect remains in a state of noncompliance with a multitude of General Assembly resolutions, most notably:
    1. GAR#38: Convention Against Genocide;
    2. GAR#84: A Ban On Forced Disappearances;
    3. GAR#430: Freedom of Religion;
  6. Particularly appalled at the gruesome genocides within Imperial history, especially, the Aeravahn Genocide, and Exterior Purge, and the continued enactment of lebensraum via the so-called Exterior Territories;
    1. Additionally disgusted by the complete lack of reparations of display of remorse of any kind by the Imperium;
  7. Disturbed that Tinfect's economy, while impressive, is built almost entirely off of the grounds of genocide - the Purge of the Exterior -

  8. Further noting the vast imperialism imposed on neighboring nations to the Imperium, including those far less technologically advanced;

  9. Believing that the existence of the Imperial Intelligence agency (a sect of Tinfect's government which is incredibly secretive) is directly responsible for the deaths and disappearances of a number of Imperial residents - both regular citizens and high ranking government officials - in order to bypass General Assembly restrictions on forced disappearances and capital punishment;
    1. Especially concerned with the near complete replacement of the Imperial government, following the supposed rebellion which used an Imperial Planet-Cracker to utterly destroy one of the Imperium's most successful colonies;
  10. Concerned by the seemingly arbitrary borders set my the Imperium, which may or may not infringe upon the claims of another nation, and the constant lingering threat that arises from Tinfect's unnecessarily large military;

  11. Further concerned by the utter spraul of the Imperial military, and its unclear policy regarding military contact;

  12. Believing that the treatment of religious individuals in its territory to be completely unacceptable, showing only the bare minimum amount of tolerance towards those sharing beliefs or belief systems different from the Imperium's;

  13. Worried all around about the lack of public accountability from their government as a whole;

  14. Labelling Tinfect and all branches as a society bordering on dystopian, stopping only where necessary to maintain a public image;

  15. And determined to rid them of the utopian image so carefully maintained by the Imperial government;

OOC: It feels so wrong posting here to begin with, but quite a few of the things you list as violations of WA law did not occur during the Imperium's membership in the WA. The Exterior is/was part of Imperial territory since before they joined the WA, and there's nothing in the WA law saying you need to give up territory you don't continuously inhabit, once you've established it as yours. Also, the Imperial Intelligence is hardly secretive when it's not a secret police even in name. And if you're going to mention Hathien, know that it was officially a Military coup plot gone wrong. Terrorist actions shouldn't count against the legitimate government. :P

Also, the Grand Praetor's name you use is old canon. The "native" form in the factbooks is the one you should use.

I would cast Clause 3 as a nefarious plot to lull both citizens and foreign powers into a false sense of well-being and friendliness. With all the disappearances that take place, those civil liberties really aren't as high as they look, are they?

And obviously actual SC regulars need to weigh in heavily here.

OOC: Oops, I changed around the WA noncompliance things a bit before posting it here, but apparently missed that. I'll tinker it to better suit my needs.

As for Imperial Intelligence, my understanding of it is that it is a secret police, in practice, especially considering this passage (which is the one I based the clause off of, on top of a bit of discussion with Tinfect herself):
Additionally, Intelligence serves the counterespionage role, defending the Imperium from intrusion by the agents of foreign powers.

If it needs changing, though, it's fairly simple.

I'll change the name of the Grand Praetor. Thanks for your feedback.

My understanding of it is that each individual citizen does retain an actual fairly high amount of civil liberties as to how they live in their personal life, provided they stay out of the way of the government.

I appreciate it.

Labelling Tinfect and all its branches as a society bordering on dystopian, stopping only where necessary to maintain a public image; (feels like you need an adjective before "public image" to make it make a bit more sense; how about something like "an at least minimally respectable public image"?

  16. And determined to rid them it of the utopian image so carefully maintained by the Imperial government;

The World Assembly Security Council,

  1. Recognizing [nation=long]Tinfect[/nation] (broken tags here - does the WA page recognise this code?) as an interstellar power;

  2. Noting that Tinfect, writing having written a multitude of General Assembly Resolutions (listed below), should maintain a certain level of decency;
    1. GAR#339: Repeal: "World Space Administration";
    2. GAR#364: Repeal: "Cyber Security Convention";
    3. GAR#420: Protection of Biomedical Research (via the nation Tinfect diplomatic enclave, and later replaced with another resolution of the same name);
  3. Acknowledging the Imperium's surprisingly high amounts of basic civil liberty liberties;

  4. Knowing, however, that in the upper crevices of the notoriously fascist regime is an efficient bureaucracy and meticulous organization, ruled over by the Praetor Imperium Irrell Levant, shrouded in mystery and conspiracy;

  5. Dismayed that, despite being a prolific wanderer of the halls of the General Assembly, Tinfect remains in a near-constant state of disdain or outright noncompliance in regards to a multitude of General Assembly Resolutions, most notably:
    1. GAR#38: Convention Against Genocide;
    2. GAR#84: A Ban On Forced Disappearances;
    3. GAR#430: Freedom of Religion;
  6. Particularly appalled at the gruesome genocides within Imperial history, especially, (remove that comma) the Aeravahn Genocide, and the Purge of the Exterior, and the continued enactment of lebensraum via the so-called Exterior Territories;

  7. Believing that, despite occurring before entry into the World Assembly, the complete and utter lack of reparations or show of remorse through any public forum towards the horrid genocidal atrocities committed by the Imperium shows that the Imperial Government would not hesitate to commit another such atrocity again, should an appropriate opportunity arise itself and the Imperium has have the slightest bit to gain from it;

  8. Disturbed that Tinfect's economy and industry are built almost entirely off of the grounds of the genocide of the various former inhabitants of the Exterior Territories;

  9. Further noting the vast imperialism imposed on neighboring nations to the Imperium, including those far less technologically advanced; might just be me, but is vast the right sort of adjective to use here? it feels a little strange - maybe oppressive or something like that?

  10. Believing that the existence of the Imperial Intelligence agency (unless it's the way Tinfect deliberately writes it, I think "agency" should be capitalised) (a sect of Tinfect's government which is incredibly secretive) is directly responsible for the deaths and disappearances of a number of Imperial residents - both regular citizens and high ranking government officials - in order to bypass violation of General Assembly restrictions on forced disappearances and capital punishment;
    1. Especially concerned by the replacement of nearly the entire high-level Imperial government following the destruction of the Hathien colony through the use of a planet cracker, including the appointment of Irrell Levant, a former member of the Imperial Intelligence, as the Praetor Imperium;
  11. Concerned by the seemingly arbitrary borders set my by the Imperium, which may or may not infringe upon the claims of another nation, and the constant lingering threat that arises from Tinfect's unnecessarily large military;

  12. Further concerned by the utter spraul sprawl of the Imperial military, and its unclear policy regarding military contact;

  13. Believing that the treatment of religious individuals in its territory to be completely unacceptable, showing only the bare minimum amount of tolerance towards those sharing beliefs or belief systems different from the Imperium's;

  14. Worried all around about the lack of public accountability from their its government as a whole; (just for consistency - all the way through the rest of the proposal you've been using "it" and "its," rather than "they")

Unless the preview function doesn't actually accurately preview, it does work for the WA page.

And changed all of the grammatical stuff you gave me.

So, the lack of feedback has really kinda thrown me off. I don't know the typical period for SC proposals before being submitted, but I'll likely be aiming for the first of February with this.

Additionally, at the recommendation of Gorundu, I've slightly changed the wording in the last two clauses.

Not going to comment about content, it looks like you've done oodles of research on Tinfect and overall I would say this is a very good proposal.

The only thing that stands out to me is the order of clauses 3, 4 and 5 - doesn't feel right. I would have put 5 straight after 2, but I suppose it's where it is because they are roleplaying non-compliance?

Anyway, that's very minor - good luck with this.

IC: "The People's Federation has always taken a stance of caution towards the ideals behind the Security Council; the ideals that let the body commend and condemn as it wishes, without respect for the sovereignty of individual nations and that of regional administrations. Despite this, South Reinkalistan will side with this condemnation. Tinfect is a disgusting nation, and I find it sickening that such a barbaric system of governance exists. The Imperium is apparently 'socialist', yet it stands against everything our nation holds dear. When the workers hear of a socialist state, they should be able to cheer for their liberated comrades. But there is no such liberty in Tinfect. Their planned economy does not service the workers, it services the corrupt ruling class. The Tinfectian proletariat must be weeping, and the South Reinkalistani state cannot abide by such disregard for Socialism's principles and doctrines. Thus, South Reinkalistan is in full support of this proposal. I would also encourage the author of this condemnation to encourage a clause regarding the Imperium's reprehensible "Subspace Barrier", which has allowed the Imperial administration to plot their nefarious schemes outside of the view of international onlookers."

I tend to lurk a lot here, but I noticed one thing that I would fix:
Morover wrote:Concerned by the seemingly arbitrary borders set by the Imperium, which may or may not infringe upon the claims of another nation
It would be better to just say it infringes on the claims of "other nations", plural, instead of mentioning "another nation", singular. Mentioning only a single other nation seems weird that you wouldn't just call it by it's name, and say "infringe upon the claims of examplestan" instead of being unnecessarily mysterious.

You did a lot of good research on this, and on a nation that deserves some recognition for their WA and RP accomplishments. Very well done. One nitpick, I do not like the use of the nation=long tag as it allows the nominee to change their pretitle. Doubt that will happen in this case.

Voted in favor with my WA puppet (I am Groot).

"Recognizing The Imperium of Tinfect as an interstellar power"

why is this even important lol

Also, this dude is being condemned for having well detailed factbooks, not actual acts. Why doesn't the security council target actual regions and nations that are using fascist styles of government that affect real people, or regions that commit actual atrocities and abuse?

Oh wait, its cause the Security Council is just a pointless WA thing, for people who want more accomplishments and medals attached to their name...gg

The Security Council is about recognising the achievements of all players, and that includes RPers. Tinfect has made a contribution to the game through their RP, and they are being recognised for that contribution by a Condemnation.

This is a game, no fascist government in a game can affect real people. And regions committing "atrocities and abuse" are either
  1. Breaking the site rules
  2. Large raider orgs, already condemned
  3. Small raider orgs, not worthy of condemnation
