This telegram doesn't tell me, as a WA member, why I should vote for this. It is someone I don't know on NS that I am being told 'furthered equality and peace'.Please vote in favor of Commend Bachtenkuppen. His work in furthering equality and peace is an example to us all. The resolution can be found here: page=sc
And...this is important to TEP, but why should this be important to me? A good point to answer in a WA telegram.Noting that Bachtendekuppen was the Delegate of The East Pacific for a period of two terms (8 months), during which it served to protect the region from the threat of the Defender Act and managed to increase activity in the community,
What did Bachtendekuppen's mediation abilities involve? How was this advice exceptional? What did these treaties do? Without these answered it comes across again as...this is important to these regions...but why is it important to me, why should I vote for this?Recognizing Bachtendekuppen's mediation abilities, which allowed for the creation of treaties with The North Pacific, Osiris, Taijitu and New Pacific Order (The Pacific), along with recognizing Bachtendekuppen as the inter-regional diplomat whose advice proved exceptional,
Same as above. No one knows of this University or what it does beyond writing chronicles for another region, or whether or not it has any value.Further recognizing Bachtendekuppen's great contribution to the University of The East Pacific, creating the Library of the history of The East Pacific, and its recent help with writing regional chronicles,
Applauding Bachtendekuppen's great work as the former Editor of the Eastern Pacific News Service (currently Ministry of Information), Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arbiter of Conclave, Minister of Culture and Education, Provost, World Assembly Delegate and many more,
But we are not aware of this, nor have we seen these contributions or news articles. Certainly something more than a mentioning of titles, and being given an explanation of what these mean, would go a long way to making people understand why they should vote for this.Aware of Bachtendekuppen's current contribution to the region as the Magister, Vizier, member of Foreign Affairs Comittee and adviser to region-mates,
Bachtendekuppen may have 'undying loyalty to The East Pacific region', but Lazarenes may have undying loyalty to Lazarus. What did Bachtendekuppen do to demonstrate undying loyalty? No one in Lazarus knows this.Further applauding Bachtendekuppen's undying loyalty to The East Pacific region,
What did this influence entail? If this was a positive influence, what did this influence involve? As right now, all Lazarenes know is that a foreign nation of a foreign region did great things in foreign regions.Impressed with Bachtendekuppen's influence within all three parts of the regional government and several regions,
What is the Curia Act? What is the Magisterium? How is any of this important? What is the contribution Bachtendekuppen made?Further noting Bachtendekuppen's contribution to the Magisterium by drafting the Curia Act, an instrumental piece of legislature for the regional government,

There was plenty of time to prevent that though, by informing about the resolution once the vote was pretty much assured to make it through to the Security Council vote. The Notorious Mad Jack wrote:New Rogernomics wrote:It isn't surprising to me that most are voting against within Lazarus, because unless they know the answers to most of these questions, they aren't likely to vote for, or vote at all (as they don't know enough).
The lemming effect is probably more effective than informing people about the resolution to be honest. The resolution was heavily stacked against in the opening stages - it was indeed 95% against at one point early on - and I'd argue that that caused most of the votes against.

I was not talking about me specifically on any of these points, but as a hypothetical Lazarene not knowing anything about TEP, including the UTEP.Libertanny wrote:Cormac, I fail to see why there is a need to bring New Pacific Order and recent events to this commendation.
I would love to know the answer for my concern, as I see no rational sense of connecting those two, totally different, cases.
New Rogernomics not knowing about the University of The East Pacific is a case of ignorance, rather than UTEP being unpopular.
It is now indeed closed for maintenance and revival. However, during it's living times, there was a lot of lectures and courses related to NationStates and it's Game Play or techncal cases. And as one of former Professors of it, I can ensure you that it was known within regions, as we had both students and professors who were foreigners.
On the end, I'm astonished of double-faced people, which I won't name here publicly. But some of you, those who were totally campaigning against this commendation, because of technical side of it, said it is good when I asked you for expertise. I am really astonished but yet, disgusted with that. Next time, when I ask "is it good?" tell me it's not, rather than saying it is and then campaigning against it.

Aargh! It's "moot point".
