OOC: I know. I just don't see the point in posting a draft to the forum if they don't want feedback. It makes no sense.

OOC: It often means that they know their proposal would get shot down, and just want to ram it through.

Wow that's a pretty dramatic post over a security council resolution that won't pass anyway.

I don't think that this region has really accomplished enough to be commended, and I really don't want dictatorial governance to spread. Because of this I will vote against this resolution (assuming it even comes to the floor for a vote).

I don’t disregard it coming to the floor, because it’s a large region with a big WA representation.
However, most proposals by this region (notably ones by the delegate) have all been defeated miserably, so don’t be too worried

I don't think the author cares if it passes or not, only that it gets to be voted on. I imagine this is a publicity stunt, nothing more. It is a region that spent money on 30000 TG stamps to pump its numbers by about 200% in a couple of months. Pretty sure they just want more recruits.

Courtesy of three campaign telegrams in the past 48 hours... which should tell you a lot about how many people want it.

Wait a minute, did somebody say "campaign telegram?" Yeah, sorry, I did... the latest one claims that "This isn't a motion to commend the Confederation. It's a motion to commend the nations of the region, to celebrate the world's diversity."

They said on the RMB somewhere that 300 nations in the region means they qualify for "deserving a Commendation". They have people who seem to genuinely believe they deserve to be recognized by the SC.

That nation is a) an idiot and b) no longer a member of the Confederation. Whatever he may or may not have said is no longer relevant, for he no longer represents our region.

Yes, I saw the blowup earlier. Doesn't change the fact that you guys are clearly in favor of this. :p

Not true, we've always intended for the resolution to pass. Look at the hostile response we've received in this thread - I'm not super keen on having these same people help draft the proposal.

This is just the latest example of trolling from similarly-minded nations that I've seen recently.

They're just trying to get a rise out you.

I firmly believe the best course of action is to mostly ignore such proposals. You give them too much credence by being drawn into arguments. My advice would be to voice your opposition, simply, and then move on. Most of these will die away on their own without the flames being fed by argument.

Cheers

You may prefer that, but the fact is that it will. Not a single GCR delegate would vote for this, nor would any of the high endorsed UCR delegates.

You're right, I'm not even sure why I'm still replying. Dictatorial nations need to stand strong and united in spite of the trolling from this huge coalition of liberal scum. I have no doubt the proposal will pass regardless.

Well put. Why engage with a community that won't support our proposals in the first place because they are obsessively prejudiced against what we stand for? What a beautiful community to be a part of.

We'd like to comment on this toxic commentary on spending money on telegram stamps. First of all, what, you think the huge regions don't use telegram stamps? Mmm. Those nations all just got there somehow. *Woosh!* Nations appearing out of thin air! Extraordinary! Secondly, if you're going to quantify how much we've spent, you should get your numbers right. 30,000 is a cute estimate at best.

Quite frankly, if you aren't prepared to fund a Mr Max Barry's lunches, we bloody well are - and we see absolutely no logical comparison between our telegram stamps and criticism concerning this proposal.

No one cares about how much money you spend on stamps imho. What really matters is how you use them, and the only way I've seen you use them so far is to poach nations from other regions that spend stamps recruiting new nations instead of poaching. Poaching alone is enough to make sure you never get a commendation, but you've done it more than once.

You should probably post it on the forum now so that you can begin drafting it nice and early. That's bound to exponentially increase the chance of it passing.

Go look at the regions with the most endorsements on their delegacies. Then look back to the endorsements on your minor supporters for the stack to get your proposal to vote. Then back again. This is the future of your proposal should it make it to vote. Utter demolition.

I highly doubt that. It'll be crushed as soon as it reaches vote by the GCR delegates.
