How about
Commending Ransium for recognizing Forest's susceptibility to attack from outside forces and taking necessary measures to ensure the community's future security;
A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. - James Madison.

The only problem here is that Drasnia can't mention the SC contributions, cause he is in it.

That is patently false. Drasnia could mention said SC resolutions, but chooses not to avoid it looking like he's writing it because Ransium wrote one for him.
Drasnia wrote:I purposefully didn't add it in later on because I didn't want to make it look like a huge conflict of interest.

No. Check the rules of what a proposal may need or must not have before saying that Drasnia doesn't need anything in his proposal.

I'll see if I can fix that.

Aclion wrote:How about

That's a much better way of phrasing that. I'll either use it verbatim or fiddle with it just a little bit.

I'm going to be holding off on submitting this for a little bit. I'm hoping to get a GA resolution ready to submit soon, and I'd like to only have to campaign for them once and change WA (and subsequently tart afterwards) once.

So in order for me to not let this drift down to page 3 again, I've addressed the concerns in the thread including changing a few mentions of Forest to "the region" or similar and instituting a slightly different version of Aclion's suggestion and have submitted it. You can approve it here.

The OP will be updated in just a minute with the submitted version of the proposal.

EDIT: And updated.

As the re-founder of Forest and the only remaining nation that resided in its earlier, founderless namesake when they arrived, Errinundera has probably had a longer association with Ransium than anyone else who participates in NationStates. I recommend without hesitation that Ransium be duly recognised for their contributions to the region, the NS universe and the World Assembly. They have, for over ten years, tirelessly worked to grow and enhance the region. In their time as delegate and regional activist Forest has grown from a backwater of six or so nations to become a regional power of nearly three hundred and fifty. Even though Ransium has taken on more and more responsibility within the NS universe, they have not lost their enthusiasm for their native region. Their achievements are listed in the resolution, but what can't be listed therein is their role as issues editor and their recent appointment as game moderator. Ransium is an exemplar for all of us.

I urge you all to vote for the commendation.

Having never heard of this nation, and certainly having enjoyed no benefits from its existence, we investigated all available statistics and found that it places dirt above people. Consistently high rates of taxation and bloated government, all in the name of "the environment" - a cause that certainly does NOT require the State.

Voted against. Will sleep well tonight.

I can't stand to state the obvious, but our point was that, outside of whatever probably annoying circle they fly in, the nominee hasn't done anything for the rest of us, or else we would have heard of it.

There is nothing in this resolution that states any nation should become like Ransium, either in the way they answer issues or indeed in the contributions they make to the game.

Similarly, the idea of commendations etc. Had been to note contributions the nation in question has made to the game, not their nation's statistics.

To vote against this commendation because you do not feel that Ransium has done enough to merit a commendation is fair enough, though I would disagree with you strongly. To vote against because of Ransium's NS stats simply shows a lack of understanding about how commendations and condemnations work.
As an editor I seam to spend an awful lot of thyme going threw issues and checking that they're no oblivious errars. Its a tough job but someone's got too do it!

Issues editor, not a moderator.
