This seems like a roleplay thing....build a wall around Wrektopia if they have so much trash that it's unbearable. Or just team up with the dozens of nations that hate Wrektopia, invade them, and force them to get rid of their trash. Or set the trash on fire and watch Wrektopia burn.

There are lots of other ways you could solve this problem, other than complaining to the World Assembly.

What exactly do you expect a condemnation to do?

This is probably what would happen:
World Assembly: "Stop hoarding trash, Wrektopia. We condemn you for this behavior."
Wrektopia: "No." *continues hoarding trash*
World Assembly: *does nothing*

This sounds like a nation that would see a condemnation as a prize.

So, the author wants to condemn Wrektopia for being a literal trash heap without any other reason?

Funny? Yes.

Valid? Hell no.

As much as I support #makelegislationfunnyagain, I'm going to have to vote no.

Echoing the sentiments of others, as far as I'm concerned, this proposal is not appropriate for the Security Council, as a gameplay body. This is not valid here. I'm voting against it.

When did Gameplayers get exclusive use of the SC? It's available to all aspects of all nations. If someone comes up with a Commendation for best ConLang or Tank Design and convinces people to vote for it, more power to them!

This gameplay supremacist attitude is one of the many reasons the SC community is nearly nonexistent. You would do best to recognize that roleplay-based resolutions are valid and can be quite good (Commend Separatist Peoples comes to mind).

This resolution certainly reminds me of a film where excessive pollution of a city led the government to lock that city into a dome. Now, is this resolution related to PR issues? Not stated at all.

I vote against because we should not condemn a nation based on the justifications outlined here.

In one way or another, I want to congratulate the editor, for the intention and for the amusing sense that many of us have found in this resolution -as I could read in previous replies-.

Give credence to the RP? Sure, we can do that.

=======================================

To the assembled Delegates of the Security Council, greetings:

Given the lack of evidence submitted to back up the frankly incredulous claim that short of mass dispersals of plutonium into the jet stream Wrektopia could POSSIBLY be responsible for mass species extinction in numerous neighboring countries, and suggesting that if the sponsoring nations are that exercised over the fate of Wrektopia's citizens they offer them sanctuary within their own borders, both as a WA member and the WA Delegate for the region of Wintreath, the Kingdom of Warwik can do no other but to oppose this mystifying "proposal."

This is hilarious. None of the numbers match up. The only negatively trending nation on the list is Yunoa, and when it went down, Wrektopia remained the same at 7.09.

Against and surprised this wasn't released 1/1/2018.
The government is elected from pools of experts in whichever fields are necessary, with polarizing issues having a minimum quotient for political balance (like abortion rights would be decided by a mix of pro-choice/pro-life expert advocates, for example).

This.

As a gameplayer, the SC is getting a bit boring and it's cool to see some sort of roleplay to spice it up. Cool stuff.

I would actually love to see more of these RP condemnations and commendations. Gameplayers have held this forum for too long! Let the roleplayers...do what they need to do! :)

I am absolutely all for C&Cing players from other parts of NS apart from GP, but those people that are C&Cd need to be worthy candidates, else you weaken those C&Cs of players who truly are deserving of them. There needs to be a certain standard of quality, both in the quality of the candidate and of the writing. While the writing in this is strong, the candidate is not. Thus I have voted against this (not to mention there was no drafting thread for this and BBD - not the author - had to post a discussion thread when it made it to vote).

I would argue that there was no draft because this was, both metaphorically and literally, a garbage proposal. It doubt it was ever aiming for anything but being on the 'Proposals' page for 3 days as a joke, but it made quorum.

If you're going to take this too seriously, then blame the delegates that approved it to the point of it reaching a vote.

Why... are RAIDERS the only ones who ever get condemned?

It would be a lot more fair to condemn nations for RP or even NS stat reasons than for it to be a rare and exclusive reward for raiderism, like only regions like the Black Hawks can ever get. How many of you voters, yourselves, ever get to be Commended or Condemned?
Full Name: The (Former) Democratic Republic of Liberated Free Nations

The reactionary foreign oppressors ruling the nations of our Union, criminally implementing a policy of decadent consumerism across the land with an iron fist, are on the retreat before the legitimate government of the working class fighting to rebuild the only Marxist state on earth, which was WRONGLY classified as a Psychotic Dictatorship. We will return to power inevitably.

They're not. A quick look at this thread

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=392800

will show that nations and regions have been C&C for a number of reasons, not just for raiding.
