Sorry to interrupt the regulars here. But I was wondering if this resolution has a strictly RP impact.

I'm pretty confused about it. Normally I vote against C&C proposals out of hand.

However, if this is strictly RP, I will abstain and let those who are involved and informed have their vote. If it's not all about RP, I will vote against it as I do with all of these silly things.

It's entirely RPed. If there's nothing that could apply to the "player behind the nation" within the resolution, it's most likely roleplayed.

As for any "impact," C&Cs have little impact but for publicly displaying the opinions of the majority. However, this one could bring people in the RP community to rise up against slaver nations (or the opposite), and has been doing that, I believe.

Condemnation symbol = "This country is ruled by an ***hole" Seriously, the guys that started the modern slave trade probably deserve it.

While I agree with this resolution and am very glad that it passed as well as it did, I do disagree with this reasoning. The Condemnation symbol does not per se mean that the nation is rulled by an idiot, but by someone who is vile, evil and worthy to be condemned. That only works if the country doesn't want to be known as vile, evil and worthy to be condemned. But in the case of Greater Tezdrian, they revel in their vileness. Thus the condemnation is almost like a evil mark of approval among nations that would encourage this vile trade.

OOC: Imagine if the UN condemned Al Quaedia. Do you think they would be upset or exceptionally happy? I think the later as it would provide a whole lot of good PR for their cause. In the case of GT, their cause, their profit is slavery. Being outside the WA the WA cannot do squat except give them this nice badge.

... Well, when you put it that way, it's like this Condemnation isn't an achievement at all. But, I suppose you're quite right. Still, I'm sure people new to the game will heed my warning: CONDEMNATION = AHOLS
