If mandating that only costs be recovered, then what is the incentive for labs to undertake the extensive, as well as expensive, seed modifications? If you are trying to drive them out of business this would be one very good way to do it.
If they make modifications which improve the plant and increase the crop yield, whats the problem with them profiting from it? The farmers will, the distributors will, the stores selling it will. Is it only the labs who will not. Or is that the goal, drive that evil "big pharma" out of business?

I voted 'for' this resolution,, I see it as a lock on the worlds food supply ( starve out the six to seven billion reproducing mouth beathers) even if it takes three years to complete that objective, there are truly insidious and evil people WITH AN AGENDA in this world.

I had thought that linking to the in-game resolutions was legal. I may be mis-remembering from the SC, but I did think it'd been applied in the GA too.

After much discussion, the delegation of The Sky Pineapple has decided to vote against this proposal for the following reason:
-Deciding that the wording of the proposal is extremely vague and unclear, failing to explain the dangers of GURT technology, and additionally concerned with he presence of at least one typo in the resolution and the vague nature of regulations suggested
-Opposing the regulation of any GM technology, being a nation whose very nature makes non-GM farming an impossibility
-Being fully capable of moderating the industrialization of farming within its own borders

I remember the rules saying something about how offsite links could eventually become dead links, which doesn't look good in resolutions.

However, on site links should be legal, especially since nation links are good. As CD only used links to NS resolutions, then I don't see a problem here.

Given all our farms are products of the people, and therefore no individual is at a disadvantage from another farmer, we found this proposal redundant, anti-GM, and against our best interests. We reject this proposal.

I was honestly surprised. At 22 hours left (when I started the counter campaign) it needed 6 approvals. At 9 hours left, it needed 8 approvals. So I went to bed prepared for it to be quietly defeated.

And then I woke up and it was at vote.
