OOC: I agree with this wholeheartedly and have been making a similar argument for more than a year. Any factual inaccuracy in a repeal should be grounds for removal. Period. Voters do not have enough interest in the GA to conduct an in-depth analysis of the arguments and to verify whether they square with the original. Some may do that. The many, many more do not. The moderators should disabuse themselves of any notion that the overwhelming majority of players that are not directly involved in the GA care enough about it to do research. That is not why they play the game.

GMO's should have research done on them before we pass a law making them legal. Yes, they are probably not harmful to human consumption, but we should make sure. Therefore ban this repeal until research has been done

1) NS =/= Earth
2) You can't ban repeals.

The Mirarean delegation would not say congratulations to the "repeal" author but would rather express its condolences to the author of the original resolution that, so it seems, will have their resolution repealed on the basis of malicious intent. The delegation also finds it suspicious the "repeal" author has not responded to any questions postulated since the allegations of the Honest Mistake rule violation began to emerge. As such, we will never know the intent of the author until he or she chooses to answer.

To that, we say:

Shame.

OOC: I can't articulate my disgust. So I won't. I can't even fault IA, who is only taking advantage of moderator incompetence.

Wow! All I can say is wow. I just finished reading through this topic. I didn't realize how ridiculous this situation had become until now. So I can write repeals that contain total falsehoods? This is great! ...I mean... this is terrible.

I can just picture a repeal of Reproductive Freedoms:
"Recognizing that Reproductive Freedoms prevents women from getting abortions even when the mother's life is in danger.
Further recognizing that the resolution allows women to be murdered as long as they are wearing purple dresses.
Shocked that Reproductive Freedoms forces all nations to forfeit their sovereignty to Imperium Anglorum.
Observing that such a disgusting proposal should not be allowed in the WA..."

I really, seriously hope you and the moderation team are proud of yourselves for this one. Usually no matter how bad someone pisses me off, or irks me I still try to respect them. After this fiasco, I don't personally believe I can even muster any respect for you or the moderation team. This is nothing more than a disgusting travesty. It really truly makes me wonder if there was some back room deal on this, as I have never seen such an egregious breach of the rules, prompting such an outcry be allowed to stand.

Congratulations on making the GA almost completely moot and unplayable. I really hope that name on a resolution was worth throwing it all away for.

It has been heading that way for a while. Bonkers rulings based on magic invisible clauses, inconsistent interpretation of the rules, inconsistent application of the tools available to moderators, occasional bursts of activity after each latest snafu, the rules consortium starting off with a fanfare and its protracted death with hardly a whimper a year later. I wouldn't bother with any serious effort at a resolution in the current "regulatory environment" and I find it hard to see how anyone does considering we are never too far away from the next moderator curve ball to wreck players' work in the GA.

Your disdain and disapproval have been noted with all appropriate concern. If you believe there has been moderator misconduct, the proper venue for reporting these concerns is via the Getting Help page. Please keep your report succinct and include all relevant information. Once your report is submitted, it will be logged for the admin to review. Keep in mind that [violet] has little time or patience for generic "mods are corrupt!" complaints and has already dismissed one such complaint regarding this resolution already.

As the voting has concluded and the thread appears to be degenerating into complaining about moderation rather than discussing the proposal, I will be relocating the thread to the WA archives.
