I am sorry to everyone that said they would not vote for. I am almost sympathetic to you. If you are voting against, answer me this. [i]Do you want your country overrun by raiders?[i]

Are you aware that a Condemnation will do absolutely nothing to prevent that?

My region already has been and I'm still voting against because even a well-written resolution wouldn't do anything.

I, a perfectly unbiased member of the community, see no reason why such an upright Region of NS should be condemned :)

That's how we humans are, unfortunately. Because of our ignorance, we are (in this case) more concerned on looks (such as the proposal's "wording") than what beneficial outcome/s it could possibly give us.

Personally, I think the "wording" is average. Not too horrible, but not too good either. It's somewhere in between. But it wouldn't be any reason for me not to vote. I don't care if condemnation can do nothing but give them "badges." If the Security Council is not as beneficial to the game like what others said then we can't do anything about it unless Max Barry does something big that will actually make the Security Council a force not to be reckoned with. After all, it's called a Security Council for a reason. No matter how much we rant, we scream in caps lock etc. Others are just doing their job and I'm just doing my job as a part of the World Assembly and voted (I voted for) for what I think is best. No matter if that is how the gaming style of others are, it still does not give them a good reason to take over a region forcefully. Some might be okay with it. But remember, there will always be people who won't like it. Saying you're against it because it's the gaming style of others is like saying North Korea's actions in threatening its neighbors with nukes is completely acceptable because that's how Kim Jong Un likes to rule. This is a Security Council. Of course we should be concerned as to what other regions are doing. And as a body of individuals who chose to join or participate in the council, we should set aside our ignorance, opinions and keep an open mind and think what is good or bad for the gaming community as a whole. With this said, I think DEN should be punished one way or another even though condemning might not change a thing. If you think you can get away with what you've done. You're not.

DEN is only "getting away" with playing a legal gametype you don't like.
Raiding isn't illegal, so there's nothing to "get away with."

First of all, you do realize that raiding isn't illegal? We should be condemning raiding NOT DEN! Even then we don't make the laws we just do things like propose liberation's, and condemnation's. It's the General Assembly who should be first communicating and reasoning with DEN. If DEN attacks places like idk the Pacific Ocean? Then we should condemn but this is not the time nor the place.

With all do respect WA members, you proposing a condemnation will take too long and besides when it is over it will be too late to stop DEN. All I am seeing (once again with all due respect) is a repeat of Trade Federation (DEN) Invading Naboo (other regions) and the Republic (WA) just sits there and DEBATES about it!!!!!

How would you propose doing something like this?

The Faithful of Numenor wrote:Even then we don't make the laws we just do things like propose liberation's, and condemnation's. It's the General Assembly who should be first communicating and reasoning with DEN.

Wrong. The General Assembly cannot pass any resolutions which affect the game itself. That would be meta-gaming. If you don't know the rules, please don't give advice as it just makes you and the person that follows it look bad.

The Faithful of Numenor wrote:If DEN attacks places like idk the Pacific Ocean? Then we should condemn but this is not the time nor the place.

Why would this be any more condemnable that them raiding a one person region? I believe you are conflating real life with NationStates here. I suggest taking the time to read up on the rules, and how raiding works before posting further.

The Faithful of Numenor wrote:With all do respect WA members, you proposing a condemnation will take too long and besides when it is over it will be too late to stop DEN.

A condemnation takes the exact same amount of time to vote on as any other resolution, and condemnation will do nothing to stop DEN any way. Like I said please touch up on the rule first as you are making yourself look very bad at the moment.

The Faithful of Numenor wrote:All I am seeing (once again with all due respect) is a repeat of Trade Federation (DEN) Invading Naboo (other regions) and the Republic (WA) just sits there and DEBATES about it!!!!!

Great Star Wars analogy, and I applaud you for it, but unlike the Republic, there is nothing the WA can do to stop DEN from continuing to raid. They are utilizing the most basic functions of the game.

Condemnations are not suitable in any situation. Giving DEN or any other band of trolls a badge of honor is not going to solve the problem, only make it worse. I guarantee you that immediately after this becomes a resolution, DEN will utilize this Condemnation to help their recruitment.

To be fair to the WA, unlike the Republic there really isn't anything it can do.

If condemning DEN won't work (which it obviously won't) then what else is there that we can do? I mean besides waiting for an outcome. If there isn't anything we can do then... I fear that DEN will start picking other regions to raid, including the regions that we're in.

As long as your delegate is nonexecutive, you are safe from raids, seeing how your region does not have a delegate it is rather pointless allowing the position to hold executive powers.

So you admit that your condemnation is shoddy?

In any case, DEN can use the lack of quality in this resolution to campaign on the platform "even a piece of crap condemning us can win! Look how many people hate us so strongly! Clearly, we are the best at what we do!"

Badly written and inaccurate.

It has no mention of "DEN" being a zombie branded region, coasting on the name of an older group instead of creating their own identity.

This condemnation of "DEN" should also be set aside until the fallout from the Predator illegal script used by invaders happens, so that can be included in a proper condemnation, so that it's more than a puff piece about how "scary" they are.

While it mentions that "DEN" work in association with other invaders, it infers that they take over regions on their own. Any condemnation needs to separate what they actually did on their own versus what they needed 5-7 other groups to accomplish.
