I was going with this from the ruling thread:
"Additionally, attempts to spell out your name with bolded letters, or other such silliness, will likely be deemed illegal under Rule 2 (use your common sense)."

Though in not sure what that has to do with R2.

What's the tiebreaker when two proposals are in queue--date of submission or date of making quorum?

Hello %NATION%! I'd love your help saving my region.

I'm Topid, a native and former delegate of St Abbaddon. Unfortunately our region has been raided. The raider leader has received support from so many regions and poured so many endorsements into the region it'd take over 70 players online at update to save our region.

I don't know what the raiders are intending for my region, I'll admit that. Many players I've talked to in the defender and independent world have agreed the level of endorsements in the region is concerning. I decided based on this concern, I'd rather the region be Liberated so it can never be refounded. I'd love for you to support my effort to liberate my region.

Please be aware, the raiders have brought fellow-raider Cormac Stark in (he may use a puppet) to telegram every delegate and try to convince them this is pointless and the raiders aren't going for a refound. They've also launched their own poorly-written Liberation proposal in the hopes its failure will hurt my attempt (their proposal is in the queue behind mine, and spells "DEN" down the side). They're putting in a lot of effort to stop a proposal that would have no effect on their raid if they weren't going for a refound.

Please support the proposal the raiders are going all-in to defeat. Stand with me, a native of St Abbaddon, to save this historical region.

A ton of people thought I was trying to get 70 players together and stopped reading saying they really wanted to help but couldn't move their WA because they're a delegate. Just thought I'd add in case that helps future natives think about how to word their message.

Which seems silly, I wish it were number of approvals so that 1)queue flooding was not a legitimate strategy and 2) having a high # of approvals was actually good for something. *shrugs*

First of all, nobody has "brought me in." I've been opposing ridiculous Security Council proposals on and off for three years. I've contributed a fair bit to the SC, as author or co-author of nine successfully passed SC resolutions, so the suggestion that this is nothing more than a "fellow-raider" siding with his friends is actually pretty laughable.

Secondly, I'm not sending a telegram to every Delegate, only Delegates who approve the proposal. And I'm being pretty lazy with that, because I would rather see this fail at vote than fail to achieve quorum. It's much harder to re-submit and pass something once it's already failed than it is if it only failed to achieve quorum.

I am flattered that I'm important enough to warrant a smear campaign though. ;)

Thank you for your statement, Cormac.

This will up to vote on Christmas (not that it goes to vote on Christmas, just it will be up to vote on that day). Most Christmases I recall had nothing at vote, I tried using the wayback machine to check but the records aren't often enough. Anyone recall when the last time there was a vote going on during Christmas?

EDIT: Too bad the old vote records from old NSwiki are gone. :(

I'm not sure what Herby has to do with anything...

Man, like 2 years ago I was the WA delegate for St. Abbaddon. I'm glad to see the WA step up for such a good cause as freeing the region.

This is what we call Diplomacy Theater. The act accomplishes absolutely nothing, but makes everyone feel like they're doing something

In agreement with the opinion of the 1000 Islands, I have voted FOR this resolution as a useful preventative measure sought by natives for their own unjustly occupied region. Glad to do what I can to see it passed.

Really? Care to elaborate on this very interesting story you are telling?

Uh huh.... Who was it that was posting pictures of sad puppies and crying for native rights when we tried to liberate The Black Riders? Good to see the old moral compass is still functioning there.

This entire ordeal is too confusing for anyone who isn't aware of the events that transpired. I feel like voting in any direction is just pleasing different political entities.

It isn't very difficult to understand. DEN raided a historic region. The natives don't like that.

But at the same time it seems this place is doomed to fail regardless. Why not just make a new region? It's too late when the only activity left is from the invaders.

Noting very few historically founderless regions have survived other than the feeder and sinker regions,

Appreciating these few remaining relics for the valuable reminders they contain about the origins of NationStates...

Believing the story of St Abbaddon to be useful for understanding the cultures of early NationStates,

This is a historic and ancient region. It isn't something you just toss into the trash. And of course the only activity right now is that of the raiders. Raiders eject any threats to their occupation. It's how raiding works.

It should be worth noting that no native has been ejected from St Abbaddon. The only natives left, Topid and Malisin, are living a peaceful and prosperous life in occupied territory.

Indeed. I was mistaken. That explains why your force is so large, though.
