[PASSED] Commend Travelling Region

Commend Travelling Region

Amazed that Travelling Region has spread goodwill throughout hundreds of regions for over 8 years by travelling to regions and talking with natives before packing up and moving on to the next region,

Applauding the diplomatic and peaceful way that the Travelling Region conducts its affairs, often asking native nations for permission for nations from the Travelling Region to go into the region that is visited, along with offering nations refreshments and cookies,

Noting that during Christmas time, Travelling Region spreads Christmas joy throughout regions, and makes routine stops at regions such as North Pole, The Kingdom of Burgundy, as well as many other regions,

Impressed with Travelling Region having traveled through regions alphabetically starting with ‘Z’ and ending with ‘0’ a total of three times, and making numerous pit stops at regions along the way, and having conversations with the natives in the regions at which the nations of Travelling Region made their stops,

Convinced that by travelling to other regions, Travelling Region causes an increase of activity in the regions that get visited by Travelling Region, thus causing interest within the region,

Remembering that during Travelling Region’s most active period, the nations representing the region would visit several regions per day,

Recalling that most of the nations in Travelling Region have been travelling to other regions before the existence of the region, which means that most of the nations that travel to other regions and converse with the nations of those regions have done so for more than 8 years, and with very few complaints from the natives of the regions they have visited during Travelling Region’s existence as a region,

Remarking on the way that natives of visited regions welcome visitors from Travelling Region with open arms and good will,
Hereby Commends Travelling Region

This is my first WA Proposal, any thoughts?

They travel to different regions and mingle with the natives. What makes them different from the featured region travelling groups?

For one, they have been doing it a lot longer (since 2007), and they visit a lot more regions that just ones that are featured.

Provide some examples. How do they increase activity within the region they visit?

For instance, in Old Valyria, the last RMB post was from 19 days ago. Since they arrived, RMB activity in said region has soared. I'm pretty certain this isn't a coincidence, as the region has somebody to talk to.

OOC: Pretty sure that's a real-world violation, since Christmas was only invented by Christians, and Christianity doesn't necessarily exist. Or it's just looked down upon, as is the case in Povinksi.

I don't think so, since it's referencing an in-NS-world event as well.

I don't think moderators have ever taken the real world rule to this extreme. Among the very first issues nations get are "Where's the Love Gone?", "Harry Potter Censorship Row", and "Appointment of Spiritual Advisor", all of which reference Christianity or a specific Christian denomination (the Catholic Church), so Christianity does in fact exist in the NationStates world.

I support this proposal. It recognizes a fairly remarkable but not much noticed contribution to the game, and one that is outside the usual gameplay "commend feederites and defenders, condemn raiders" dichotomy. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the grammar cleaned up a bit -- no offense -- but as far as the content goes, I'm for it.

Will you PLEASE learn the rule before deciding what is and isn't legal?

Full support for this one. They're a great little group, have visited a few of my regions and are always a pleasure to have.

So they've been to Hell and back? Oh come on, someone had to say it.

Anyway I've always liked quirky travelers' regions like this one and (shameless plug for one of this nation's many homes) The Featured Region Followers.

I'll be watching this one closely. Good luck!

I hope you're planning to campaign for it; almost nothing makes quorum these days without a campaign.

Approved though!

I have approved this. This seems very much in line with Commend Haiku and Commend The Featured Region Followers--a region very worthy of commendation outside of the R/D and RP worlds.

Having traveled the NSverse in the guise of TAO the Wanderer for years before it was fashionable, the act of Wandering is one of the most liberating and educational experiences in this game. As one of the Travellers (again, TAO the Wanderer), the past few years moving as a group has been wonderfully rewarding. To have now seen ALL of the NSverse nearly 6 times in the past 11 years ... 3 times through with Geese and friend ... gives me a better sense of the infinite diversity and creativity of players most will never know and probably never hear of. If the journey wasn't rewarding, it wouldn't be worth repeating and repeating. Seeing that our group has steadily grown over the last couple years, others are experiencing the same joy of discovery.

Granted, I have a vested interest in this proposal but I very much support it.

It would be a shame to see this not reach quorum, so I've run a last minute campaign for it. I hope it helps!

Green light.

We Cimmerians feel great sympathy here as we are travellers ourselves. (Ad beautifully painted fences, kicked stubborn natives, democratic elections, suppressed spams, and dismissals of incompetent regional officers.)

Must have worked because it's at vote.

I hope that TAO's mana within TWP will ensure at least that Delegate's vote for this worthwhile resolution.

Please vote AGAINST this resolution. The leaders of Travelling Region rudely insulted me and banjected a puppet of mine because they didn't like my name. While the idea behind the region is great, the leaders are not commendation-worthy people.

When did this happen? Details, please, if you want us to change votes.
