[PASSED] Commend Haiku

Admiring afar
The peaceful lands of Haiku
Flowing gracefully

For over six years
They have written poetry
Uninterrupted

With five seven five
Three phrases in basic prose
They reveal the world

Calmly and simply
Recording all emotions
For a well lived life

For showing wonder
The Security Council
Thus commends Haiku!

---

Haiku is one of my favourite regions. I admire that for at least 6 years (It pre-dates the regional history page (https://www.nationstates.net/page=regio ... gion=haiku), possibly ten (If we trust NS history), members of the region have simply been writing haikus. It's a cute gimmick to keep up and as you read the RMB history (And its 4 years of haiku after haiku) you'll read about births and deaths, travels, studies and jobs as well as in game news and other miscellaneous musings, making for a simple snapshot of life.

I don't know if it's significant and I haven't confirmed if they want it as this as something I wrote in a lazy Sunday morning. However with the standards for the SC supposedly being so low, I want us to focus on proposals that aren't so petty for a change.

And it's all in haiku too :)

This is amazing. It's nice to see a lighthearted endeavour such as this.

I support this.

Support. :)

I'll support this just because it is written in Haiku.
I don't even care if the region is a prolific raiding region that puts TBR and DEN to shame.

Hold on a second.
I have to ask a question:
Do they deserve it?

It doesn't adhere to any of the preset proposal templates, but I'll still wholeheartedly support this. It's nice to see a well-thought-out Commendation for a deserving region, especially with all of the other rubbish going on.

It really depends
Highlighting variety
Was always my goal

I hope the SC
Can highlight for the players
We love all playstyles

It's a bit simple
But does the game have to be
Always in conflict?

The draft still needs work
So I'll be taking it slow
To make it worthwhile

Petyr contemplates,
People will say this wastes time,
But I think that's dumb.

How is time wasted
When otherwise we're idle?
NOT approving wastes time.

EDIT. Damn, last line is too long. Too lazy to fix. I think it's a nifty little region. At the very least worth a vote IMO (even if it fails they'll get a certain level of recognition just from the vote).

Okay, take your time.
If a region deserves it
There's no need to rush.

The Security
Council needs a breath of life
through some silliness.

PS the phrase security council is 6 syllables, so saying SC is a way better idea :P

I'll be glad to approve it. Europe does not vote in Security Council proposals, so, apologies.

I think after the amount of ridiculous junk we've had to deal with for a while this is a nice change. I like that it's all in haiku too.

First line has six syllables. Opposed. :p

Did you change that? Pretty sure I would have caught that before.

A praiseworthy effort...for a change ! We shall support this with all our might if only not to see more ridiculous crap in these halls !
Not to mention, haiku...

I only changed "Calm simplicity" to "Calmly and simply".

"Quietly" is 3 syllables it seems. "Quiet" just flows so well when you say it that I thought it was one, and quietly was two. I should change it to "Admiring a far", but I'll leave it up just to have test to see approvals without campaigning.

That actually sounds much better (though "afar" is one word).

Indeed it is a
Pleasure to commend this fine
Proposal. Yet, lo;

Behold Haiku, now.
Behold that which speaketh This
Association:

Haiku's greatness shines
It is commended henceforth.
Therein: three haikus.

Concluding, lastly,
This Association finds
This thread ought be thought

To be riveting,
Absolutely endearing,
And of well spirit.

The campaign TG
should contain only Haiku to read
thus bringing success

I can support this
for it is all written in
the sweetest verses

Full support from me!
I hope this gets to quorum
This time or later.

Like TFRF,
Unique regions that bring joy
Deserve a Commend.

I started to type
My response was in Haiku
I utterly failed.

:p

In the last line, "nice Haiku" seems a bit... eh I don't know, just doesn't sound right to me. It's like, let's just throw the word "nice" in there to get the syllables right. Maybe "does commend Haiku" or "we commend Haiku" or something like that.
