Who? I can only recall the Skeleton Army's commendation, but that was for the whole region, not just the founder. And they weren't real raiders anyway.

You take that back! They're the most awesome invaders in the NationStates World!

As I said elsewhere, throwing the words "commend and "condemn" around for resolutions means you might be using the wrong one here. The destruction of regional communities, for the sheer joy of their suffering and confusion would tend to fall under things that most nations would "condemn". You know, unless they were really into the destruction of regional communities, for the sheer joy of their suffering and confusion.

Cormac's counter campaign is apparently hurting. Unfortunately, generic "zomg raider" type messages tend to be annoying effective.

This is out the window, by the way, as Mall decided to launch a counter-campaign against my proposal currently in queue.

It takes a little over 10 days to hit all WA nations with a client.

Thank you, but after Mall decided to counter-campaign my proposal (Repeal "Condemn Allied States of EuroIslanders"), I decided to go ahead and counter-campaign after all. I don't anticipate this making quorum.

Ambassador Winchester approached the podium, his hair disheveled, his shirt half untucked, having spent countless hours lobbying the Delegates of the world not to approve Commend Evil Wolf. He had just heard while trying to catch a nap in a booth at the 3WB that the proposal had received its seventy-seventh approval, achieving quorum a little over an hour before voting was set to expire.

A look of resignation and a scowl on his face, he muttered a single word: "SOON."

And then he muttered a few more choice words as he walked off.

(In other words, good job Mall and good luck at vote. :P )

I'm sorry, but one or two good deeds do not negate a lifetime of bad ones. Once a raider, ALWAYS a raider. This motion must not pass, less it be a stain on the very principles this Governing Body protects. Deny this commendation, and show that the World Assembly shall not support the destruction of regional law and order.

The WA has always taken a strong hand when it comes to Raiders, and commending one--no matter how just some of his actions might have been--is not what this body stands for. Which is to say, the WA tries to uphold the principles of sovereignty, self-determination, and right to self-govt. A raider upholds none of these in his role as a hostile usurper.

Woefully inaccurate. Todd McCloud and 1 Infinite Loop -- two legendary raiders -- were commended by the Security Council. Nice try, though.

There are several other raiders (or those who have conducted raids en masse) who have been commended by this council.

Exactly. Being a raider doesn't automatically disqualify you from commendation, and it's not as if the SC has never done this before.

I refer you to the second quote in my signature.

The World Assembly, first of all, is not dedicated to the notion of sovereignty or 'self-determination' - the General Assembly puts lie to that. In fact, it also puts lie to the notion that the WA supports 'self-government'.
