Liberate The Black Riders
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region.

Category: Liberation

Nominee (region): The Black Riders

Proposed by: Matthew Hargreaves

Description: Description: The Security Council;

Recognizing that The Black Riders were once a peaceful and neutral region.

Noting the region was invaded by The Black Rider Overlord of General Halcones in 2011 as the base for their new raiding organization.

Dismayed that the region has since turned into a notorious raiding region, having been condemned by this esteemed Council for crimes against regions of all kinds.

Believing that the region should be returned to its original leaders.

Noting that the Security Council is the only hope for this region being returned to its former peaceful state.

Hereby Liberates The Black Riders.

Seeing as how Leningrad can create a thread for everything else, but not the resolution he brought to vote, I will create it....

Most of this is total bullshit, and is nothing more than a publicity stunt for the Riders (like they need any more publicity)....

Off-Topic: I thought I saw a ruling somewhere that stated a SC resolution had to contain more facts than lies? If so, why did this not get yanked?

I don't recall that ever being a ruling. SC proposal authors can lie through their teeth - truthfulness is a matter for players to determine, not mods.

Seems to me that ought to render this proposal null and void.

There are no Delegate imposed barriers to free entry to strike down. In fact, last time I checked there was no delegate. This is preposterous. While I'm personally not a fan of TBR or what they do, that really doesn't matter. This is a useless bit of fluff and those who can should vote against it.

I'm really not even sure how this is a legal proposal.

Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that the Black Riders did have a password. Even if we struck it down, it wouldn't mean anything since the regional founder remains.

No, that's not at all what a liberation does.

A liberation removes a password, and the ability to put up a password, from a region. Since TBR has no password this "liberation" would do nothing to them at all. Particularly since they still have a founder, and really have no desire to put a password in place anyway. This liberation is a complete waste of everyone's time.

I've been a NationStates member for a little over 2 weeks and I already see how big of a sham this is.
The Black Riders, the most notorious raiding group in NationStates, suddenly needs to be "liberated"?
If anything, liberating it would just make it easier for countries to join, and eventually, everyone would join just out of fear, or to bully other countries as the "supreme military of NationStates". Not to mention that the Black Riders have been condemned by SC Resolution #127, I'm surprised that this managed to come out to vote. Other than that, I don't really think that i need to say much more.
