Recently, less than five hours ago, our Diplomatic Services have aknowledged that the Government of Auralia had resigned from the World Assembly in the middle of the night. Since turning his back to the WA, it would be nothing but meaningless to go any further with this proposal. This commendation should be removed from the panel.

Hope more nations join our position on this matter.

Because it's totally impossible to Commend or Condemn nations that aren't in the WA, right? :palm:

Mod Announcement: vote to be discarded

Since this proposal came to vote, it was noticed by the moderator team that the author controlled multiple WA nations when submitting this proposal, in this case by having both the nations "Afrasiab WA Mission" and "Auralia" in the World Assembly at the same time.

Standard policy when an author cheats to submit a proposal is to delete the proposal. As this proposal made it to vote before the multying was brought to our attention, it will be discarded once voting is over, regardless of the result of the vote.

WA Multying is strictly prohibited by the rules, and deliberate multying for the purpose of in-game advantage (in this case to try to "prove" to onlookers that the author and the nominee were not the same player) is particularly frowned upon. We have therefore taken the decision to ban the nations Auralia and Afrasiab WA Mission from the WA, permanently.

Indeed.

Still very disappointing to see a player like that behind Auralia to do this though. I was against this from the start, but to see my concerns vindicated in such a manner is unfulfilling.

The way I read that, something like, "NOTING the use of undue influence within the World Assembly via forcing a colony to support their goals" would probably be acceptable, though.

Could be, I'm not going to make the ruling on that one. I'm a bit n00bish as a mod for WA matters. But it's safe to say that one should be careful in their wording with it. Keep the phrasing away from mod action, since that is illegal (we do not exist from an in-world POV :( )

Yes, depending on how it's done. The most relevant previous ruling is:

This post is entirely OOC.

In light of recent events, I think I owe everyone an explanation of what happened.

I thought that I deserved a commendation, but that the only way I was going to get one was if I wrote it myself. So I tried, and it almost worked, but I broke the rules, and I got caught.

I do not believe my actions were morally wrong, at least from an OOC perspective. This is a political game, after all. However, I recognize that I have lost all of my credibility as a result, so I'll probably be retiring from NationStates at this point. Just as well, I suppose - I've been spending far too much time playing this game anyways.

It's been fun! :)

Good luck to you in the real world. Don't multi there. :P

It's quite impressive to see a player sum up in one post why people dislike self commends.

Well as you pointed out in the first post, you had Ramaeus, Skydip and Aba try it - it seemed the timing just wasn't right and/or the author didn't want to push it so they withdraw it. I'm sure you of had yours eventually..

The most confusing part was that if you wanted to self commend you didn't need to use WA multis. you would have got your puppet 2 endos anywhere. Unless this is the part where you suspect people would claim Afrasiab was you if you dropped WA on Auralia. I don't think that really would have defeated the vote.. (after all, who reads the debates right? :P)

This just seemed all very unnecessary.

(Though personally, Swarmlandia's self condemn of himself using one of his puppets by non-existant RP atrocities was one of the better plays of the SC. :P And it was only removed since Swarm outed himself and got AMOM to repeal it...)

At least it's on the books. It has a resolution number. This will not be logged in the SC unless someone else submits it.

Wow, two discarded SC resolutions in a row. At this point I do feel that there should be some notice that people who don't visit the forum should read, just because of it being the second in a row :/
