And I really did get direct quotes and/or many ideas and suggestions from the Co Authors on TSC's forum.

What are your thoughts NS? I plan to submit this on Friday (a shorter draft stage then normal because it has been drafted already in TSC's forum, which is full of active WAers).

I don't think you need to use that many links, but this is well-deserved.

My main concern was that if I just said Todd McCloud's without using the tag, a few delegates/voters might see that and think "A NAME? ZOMG AGAINST!!!" *shrugs*

You only need to link to The East Pacific and Macedon once. And Todd not at all. A link already appears atop the proposal.

I'll remove The East Pacific's and Macedon's except one.

See above for Todd's.

ASTONISHED at the level of activity in one of the world’s most active regions, The East Pacific achieved during the delegacy of Todd McCloud because prior to the reign of Todd McCloud, The East Pacific was a relatively inactive for a feeder region,

Needs to be reworded, it's messy. Something like

ASTONISHED at the increase of activity achieved in The East Pacific underneath the reign of Todd McCloud,

Lol, I think I tried to edit it once and left in all the words I meant to replace, because I said the same thing twice...

Changed to:
ASTONISHED that during Todd McCloud's delegacy The East Pacific, one of the most inactive feeders, has been transformed into one of the most active regions in the world,

It would make more sense as 'previously one of the most inactive feeders'.

Awkward, erroneous language.

I feel like "NationStates World" is unnecessary and redundant, "to improve the World" is fine.

We're not using the 'nation in front of the player' line? :(

Also, if I get co-author credit, I'd rather it be for Sedgistan than Sedgisatan.

Another case of failing to take out words when I replace them. :-(

Oops, messed me up switching from naming the specific resolutions (needs capitalization) and this way. Also, it's the World Assembly? How have I not noticed this???

Hehehe that's because that line used to refference "youtube" and I knew I was on a whole new level of OOC. But, since the mention of "youtube" is gone I'll remove it.

I would concur that Tood McCloud has the qualities for a commendation, but if this fails to reach quorum, there's always an opportunity to remove unnecessary links: one link per entity should do and no need to link Todd McCloud himself in the description. Otherwise, I'm supporting it and voting for it.

One positive of the links is that it reads like a nation, by using the pretitle. ex. "The Republic of Kandarin"

With Todd McCloud one might argue that he be both condemned for his role as an invader, and commended for his community building in the East Pacific and in his general pursuit of diplomacy.

While the East Pacific did lapse, previous to his delegacy, it was once an active community under the previous invader delegates of the Farkers, who have mostly retired from raider. I do appreciate the democratic process that he has applied to the delegacy there, voting as the membership requests even when it opposes his personal views; especially when it causes him to vote against the invader voting block.

Since Rejected Realms internal voting has been unanimously in favor (RR policy is to begin internal voting when a proposal reaches quorum and end it when it reaches the floor) I have voted for the commendation.
I wish I remember who wrote:Games like Nationstates are like a big cardboard box, and there are two kinds of people in the world. *sigh.*

You can't mention his previous status as a raider without having to understate it, then elaborate extensively on every single one of his accomplishments as a defender, can you? Just have to keep the defenders always at the top of the Security Council?

I'm for commending Todd for his achievements, but the obvious bias here annoys me a bit. Especially when he himself has perpetually expressed his frustration with the complete defender bias in commendations and stated that he would like to see the politically skilled invaders commended for their politics and hard work. Sure, you did what he asked, but you took the most minimalistic approach possible, and proceeded to drown it out with defender patriotism.

[[OOC: I'd have been more active in the drafting of this, but the last month has been far too busy for me outside of NationStates to really give as much attention to what's going on here as I would've liked to. I guess it's partially my own fault that I didn't pipe up about this earlier. I have to admit that I didn't read through the draft very carefully, though, even if I had, I wouldn't have been able to collect my thoughts on it and post them thanks to a lack of time to do so.]]

The multiple, long links in the resolution are also rather visually agitating. I thought that had been brought up much earlier...

Well, this is probably going to pass as it is now, and I don't think there'll be any chance to make any more edits. As far as I can see, despite the mere mention of (and total lack of elaboration on) his feats as a raider, the defenders are still working as hard as they can to keep themselves on top of the SC. So much for that idea,Todd.

I see two references related to defending (which could have been rolled into one), and one reference related to raiding. Most of the other references don't even deal with the I/D game. I don't know what this "defender bias" and "defender patriotism" that you speak of is.
