Commend Christian Democrats
Category: Commendation | Nation: Christian Democrats

Recognizing that [nation=short]Christian Democrats[/nation] has authored or co-authored six active General Assembly resolutions, including:
  • GAR #160, "Forced Marriages Ban Act", which forbids World Assembly member states from compelling any person under their jurisdiction to marry another or from recognizing forced marriages performed in any other state,
  • GAR #213, "Privacy Protection Act", which establishes a fundamental right to privacy in all member states,
  • GAR #249, "Stopping Suicide Seeds", which prohibits multi-national corporations from exploiting farmers in developing countries through the use of genetic use restriction technology in seeds, and
  • GAR #253, "Repeal 'Freedom in Medical Research'", which repealed a resolution that granted medical researchers who engage in "controversial forms of treatment" full civil and criminal immunity for their actions, regardless of the legality of their actions or any loss or injury resulting from their actions,
Admiring the World Assembly delegation from Christian Democrats for their tenacious and rigorous advocacy of a Catholic worldview – without necessarily agreeing with that worldview – against overwhelming opposition during debates on the General Assembly floor, as well as their assistance in the drafting of various General Assembly proposals,

Applauding the major contributions of Christian Democrats to Right to Life, one of the largest pro-life regions in the world, as that region's founder and as the leader of that region's army,

Further applauding the major contributions of Christian Democrats to Catholic as a former delegate of that region, as a former member of that region's High Council, as the chief author of that region's constitution, and as the co-author of the Security Council resolution Repeal "Liberate Catholic", which allowed the natives of that region to impose a password to ensure the region's security after an invasion,

Amazed by the numerous other contributions of Christian Democrats to various regions throughout the world, including the Rejected Realms as the former head of the Office of Internal Affairs and the Office of Culture, Balder as a contributing author to that region's first constitution, and Westphalia as vice-delegate of that region and as a member of that region's legislature,

The Security Council,

Commends [nation=short]Christian Democrats[/nation].

Pretty "meh" on the candidate myself. Content looks good save for:
Admiring the World Assembly delegation from Christian Democrats for their tenacious and rigorous advocacy of a Christian conservative worldview – without necessarily agreeing with that worldview – during debates on the General Assembly floor, as well as their assistance in the drafting of various General Assembly proposals,

Which hardly seems admirable, let alone Commendable.

Also,
Applauding the major contributions of Christian Democrats to Right to Life, one of the largest pro-life regions in the world, as that region's founder,

What "major contributions" are we talking about here?

Other than that...I'd say it's a fairly vapid candidate if you remove the authorship. I'm against in the current form but really have no suggestions as to how to improve it other than better content. *shrug*

One word sums this up nicely.....

NO!!!!!

On the other hand, if you want to condemn them, for attempting  to force their religious bullshit beliefs upon the rest of us, I would definitely consider supporting that.

Warmest regards,

Yeah, that's what I say also. When one supports their comrades like this, it just doesn't work. No, No, No, and again NO!

When, exactly, did CD attempt to impose "religious law" on the member states of this Assembly?

Please exude my error I was trying to say that often CDs proposals have a religious agenda underneath the covers. This fact is actually pretty obvious in his latest proposal, but I must point out that the first resolution you mentioned (GA#160) is well based and even some of CDs most sceptic critiques agree with it, I just don't think that CD deserves to be commended for it.

Yeah, Christian Democrats doesn't exactly try to hide their agenda.

You are in for a shock if you don't think Christian Democrats doesn't have a religious agenda that is overtly obnoxious to both players and mods alike. His crusade (pun intended) against abortion--for but one example--is legendarily cringe-worthy at best.

Or the crappy Marital Rape Justice Act, that seemed to legalize rape, only to then outlaw it again, all in one neat little package.

Well written, but the target is terrible and the content questionable. Against.

To what proposal do you refer?

To my knowledge, CD has used secular arguments when discussing abortion. (Indeed, non-religious arguments are the most convincing.)

How did the Marital Rape Justice Act "seem[] to legalize rape"?

Due to the fact it was submitted under "Moral Decency" which describes "A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency." Henceforth rape would have had to have been legal in the first place, for it to be restricted under the proposal in the name of moral decency.

Either way, feel free to submit this, I look forward to voting against it, and seeing it laughed off the floor.

:palm: Aurelia please stop insisting in this draft. Obviously it is being frowned upon and denied by many of the respectable members. So please stop.

As much as we would probably get along, not a chance. Evangelicalists make me sick, and that's what he sounds like.

So CD hate is based on his religious faith instead of his efforts in the WA?

No, CD's efforts in the WA are based on his religious faith.

He's had some good ideas for sure (although I am still annoyed at the misinformation he asserted in his vain attempt to scuttle the The Early Learning Act), but his unbelievably annoying and long-standing tirade against abortion rights makes him uncommendable.

No. I will not commend a nation who has tried numerous times to pass anti-abortion legislation and anti-science legislation(the resolution on gmos).

Granted he has written one or two good resolutions, but that doesn't mean the nation deserves a automatic commendation.
