THE WORLD ASSEMBLY,

RECOGNIZING Francos Spain's replacement of Thedoc as delegate of The Pacific approximately ten years ago (during the glorious August Revolution of 2003) and subsequent establishment of the New Pacific Order (NPO),

RECALLING that this nation spent the following year acting as a guiding figure and stabilizing force within the region (which was the largest in the world at the time) and that Francos Spain's revolution prevented a trend of lethargic monarchy from emerging within The Pacific,

NOTING the storied history of the New Pacific Order and the many achievements of its devoted and members both old and new,

FURTHER NOTING the New Pacific Order's long, stable, secure, and prosperous reign in The Pacific,

BELIEVING that the nature of much of this unity and success stemmed from the "Francoist" doctrine of Francos Spain's revolution which ultimately manifested itself in Unlimited's manuscript, "Proper Francoist Thought,"

DETERMINING that The Pacific would not have achieved the same level of renown and prosperity it retains today without the governance of the NPO and the initial guidance of its first true leader,

HEREBY COMMENDS Francos Spain.

First, while FS's coup may be the most influential event in NS history, I doubt his actions or the way of playing he supported are particularly commendable (feeder purges; being the first to introduce and popularise repressive measures such as endorsement caps in feeders where previously residents had enjoyed a much greater freedom; trying to grab TNP's delegacy during ALSO, etc.).

Second, it always seemed to me (a little newb, admittedly) that Francos Spain was an ambitious, but rather ordinary player who had a whole mythology built around him by other Pacifican leaders because hey, a powerful foundation myth and unifying figure is always good. If you want to praise the accomplishment of the New Pacific Order, I'd prefer you targeted somebody else.

The good he achieved in the world outweighs his less palatable acts.

I do not believe this resolution exaggerates his nature and character nor does it commend Franco for more than he realistically accomplished and enabled.

Francos did what he had to do. Thedoc was an inactive, lazy, and userite influence. People forget that FS had to introduce those measures you mentioned to keep Pacifica safe from dutch mobsters and other reactionary elements.

Interesting to hear this from a GCR delegate. You may find the word silly but the meaning is a very different story.

The prevalent existence of outside players who seek to use feeders for their resources by manipulating their systems, taking power in them, and using them as a stage to gain political, social, and military power is, frankly, undeniable.

The NPO is also saddened that the language we carefully use has been violated by the likes of those who don't understand it, but the truth definition of it describes a dangerous and parasitic presence that is a serious problem. You may not like the word, and many Pacificans have been disappointed at its misuse abroad, but the definition and the problem themselves are hardly "rubbish."

either way, I hardly think Francos Spain deserves any kind of WA badge, either way. The NPO itself has a case for both, as do many of its subsequent leaders, but my understanding of the history doesn't suggest that he deserves either.

Had influence existed, or the Mods enforced the griefing rules that were extant at the time, it is extremely unlikely that he would have pulled if off, as well, from my understanding
