Would it have hurt at least one of the GCR delegates to invest in a dictionary first? Or were you all in such a hurry to keep the bandwagon going that proof reading this wasn't on your to do list?

Oh well.

We didn't bother editing it extensively because our goal isn't to write an impressive Security Council resolution. Our goal is to invade NAZI EUROPE. We only made the resolution as good as we felt it needed to be. We possess most of the World Assembly's votes and therefore we can afford to hold our resolution to a lax standard. If Nazi supporters don't like what we're doing, there are two things they can do: they can deal with it, or they can whine in this thread.

They can also vote against it, of course, but it won't make any significant difference due to the relative weight of our votes.

In all seriousness, um...why we do have to vote on this again? Isn't this like the 3rd time in 6 months or something?

Why give the Nazis so much limelight?

Really? You possess "most" of the WA's votes so you can just write a half-assed proposal and push it through, without help from any of the other large delegates huh? I wasn't aware 192 votes was "most" of the WA's votes.

The person that could have swung the vote in your favour has decided to use the "relative" weight of her votes, which by the way I count at five times your votes, to sink your proposal.

Before one runs their mouth off they may want to have the "correct" facts to back themselves up.

Cheers mate.

If as Mad Jack suggested all the GCR delegates had input on this you could assume they'll all be planning to vote in favour (about 1700 votes, or 3400 if everyone who endorses them also votes in favour) that's a bit more than Anime Daisuki. Of course that's not considering how other UCRs may vote, but the assumption is a bit more than 192 votes supporting it.

Still a slightly questionable approach to just assume "we have the votes so we can submit whatever drivel we like", but one that might work if they pile early enough to swing the lemmings.

Personally I thought Cormac's attempt was far superior to this quasi-sensical falderal. He at least tried to hide he true intentions of his proposal behind a thinly veiled attempt at making the community a better place because of his proposal, and it failed.

This fatuity is just plain shit, and yet somehow it is going to make quorum, and if it " somehow" passes, it will make absolutely no difference whatsoever as German Dragons will simply CTE the region and refound it, and then exact a heavy toll on the community by destroying regions in revenge.

I will be voting against, and don't say I didn't warn everyone when this all comes true.

Cheers.

If they're driven out, they'll make a new region (call it 'NAZI America, for the sake of argument) and boom, they'll be foundered.

So because you believe every nation has a right to be free and exist, you've voted to help the GCRs destroy a region they don't like?

How many times must they submit this before they realize that it isn't getting liberated?

I think the resolution is fairly simple:
1. The GCRs want to trash Nazi Europe
2. there is a password stopping them
3. they want the password removed.
4. Because you "believe that every nation has a right a to be free and exist" you have decided to help them trash the region.

Questions?

Well the two ways to stop it are either to let the GCRs trash the place and then hope they get bored, or get some better delegates in those regions. Unfortunately there's nothing to stop their group resubmitting this again and again and again.

The delegation of Mengsk votes AGAINST this bill. Let Nazi Europe live in its own little delusional world. If Nazi Europe tries to invade another region, THEN we can act.

Why only against Nazis? What about other totalitarian regimes/nations/regions? Nazis aren't the only threat, but every extremist (communist, islamist, radical christian, ultra-nationalists, ...) is a threat! We from the Luxembourgish Federal Republic voted against it, since we are against double standarts/hypocrisy.

*Delegate Vincent stands to address the Council.*

May I ask what kind of effect this will have later on? So far, all I hear is that a region is protected, for whatever reasons, and somebody doesn't like that. So, they are going to ask for help to destroy the barricades and invade the other region.

What is stopping this from carrying on to other regions that may not have as serious of a taint on them? My region is protected, for example. What's to say that my region won't show up here to be "Liberated?"

I am against this idea. There is too great of a chance for abuse, even if it begins with "best intentions for all." In fact, this seems like hypocrisy on a grand scale. I am in agreement with the Ambassador from Luxembourgish Federal Republic. Why only Nazi's?

*Sitting down, Delegate Vincent casts his vote, and turns to other matters, waiting for the outcome.*

Now, I realize that there is a reason for this, but it is dubious at best. And, yes, my region is password protected because I am a roleplaying region and I have included my "Real-Life" friends to join me there. No one else gets in, because the dynamic of my region will change too drastically to continue with the roleplay.

Did that one pass? I'm not sure, since I have not access the archives, but I am sure that by your use of "tried," it failed.

So, why did it fail? Was it because someone knew this was a bad idea? Or was it because Haven is well-liked and the idea of "Liberating" regions in this manner had just started?

Shen, I suggest you stop trying to use logic against these people. Its like talking to a brick wall.
Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.

Why would people be so ignorant as to make decisions to condemn regions without a proper reason. I am disappointed at people voting yes because of a word or by jumping on the band wagon.

It was never submitted, due to massive opposition.

Nazi Europe did however manage to get a liberation of Islam passed just so they could raid it (this came out much much later).
