I voted against the motion to condemn Hippostania on behalf of my region. Our vote on the proposal currently stands at 2-6.

Although we're no longer members of the World Assembly, we strongly support this condemnation and would vote in favor if we retained one.

Any sane nation would vote FOR this resolution.

Hippostania is a nuisance on the world stage, taking it's beliefs beyond the extreme.

There aren't doubts about the extremism of Hippostamia. However, this resolution seems to express a sort of support to a determined political view (in this case, a right-wing one), even if it wasn't in the intentions of its creator.
This is the point, we think.

Hippostania has shown blatant disregard and disrespect for World Assembly resolutions. They once seriously considered a law that would be completely illegal according to no less than six different resolutions.

If we expressed a right wing political view in this resolution, this resolution wouldn't even be proposed, we proposed this because Hippostania was denying citizens to vote on the party of their choice and putting Socialists, Communists and Anarchists into the Anzére Correctional Facility

OOC Could it possibly get any better or more patriotic than that?

Just imagine going up to the "podium" to speak, and having some crony holding up a MASSIVE flag of your nation behind you, while your national anthem is playing.

Would be kind of humbling.

Sorry don't mean to threadjack.

It's probably all because of Anime Daisuki, WA Delegate of 10000 Islands. She has 948 endorsements (the most of any WA Delegate in this game) and voted against the proposal. Since a WA Delegate votes on behalf of its own nation and the nations which endorse it, this means that she has a grand total of 949 votes cast in opposition, seriously threatening the possibility that this proposal will pass, at least for now.

Port-du-Sud's government considers that the problems between Hippostania and others countries should not resolved with condemnations texts at World Assembly. This action can only increase the tensions and it will be worse.

We call all concerned countries and Hippostania to begin talks, and stop this World Assembly proposal.

Port-du-Sud's government is AGAINST this proposal.

I have learned that they are malevolent and unreasonable. "Talks" have never ended well.
Do the world a favor and resign the proposal.

If a nation has no desire to respect World Assembly resolutions, then they shouldn't even be in it. This motion not only defends the rights of Hippostanian citizens guaranteed to them through the WA's resolutions, but it also defends the integrity of the WA as an organisation.

It cannot be more vitally stressed that Hippostania's actions not only threaten the rights of its own citizens, but the rights of citizens everywhere as the WA as an organisation for positive change is marginalised by the intentions of repressive regimes. We have a responsibility to the people of the world and those worlds beyond it to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, fairly protected, not wrongly labelled, not subject to discrimination, ethnic cleansing or genocide, given the right to liberty and to be given those rights guaranteed by past WA charters to them.

We make this resolution because we very much care for the rights of individuals and groups of people to be free from persecution. I stand for equality as I say this and my nation, Gordano-Lysandus fully SUPPORT condemnation of the Hippostanian Republic and their corrupt government.

Stevens chuckled slightly, "While I have voted for this resolution, I can't help but agree with the sentiment of Ambassador Hardcastle, there are many member nations who don't follow some of the resolutions; heck, I'm sure there's one Klent has let fall through the cracks," he paused to take a sip of water.

"There are a few resolutions that are more important to follow than others. For example, GA Resolution Nine, ‘Prevention of Torture’, is more crucial to the interests of member nations' people than, say GA Resolution One-Twenty-Two, 'Read the Resolution Act'. Hippostania's transgressions have been against Resolutions protecting its citizens natural rights, and there for have committed crimes against humanity, and they must be punished as such."

I have no personal dealings with the nation in question, however, I have a profound respect for the WA and the resolutions that come from it shouldn't be taken lightly. Though each nation has its own will, by joining the WA that nation has agreed to the WA's charter and thus binds itself to the laws it forges. Therefore, they must not be allowed this injustice, so I urge the WA nations of the world to approve this condemnation.
