I, Elias Greyjoy, have a lodged a vote FOR this resolution in my power as WA Delegate of Skyrim. The inhabitants of Skyrim and myself find that the original proposal was poorly written and based and terrible role-playing, quite unlike the repeal at hand. We wish the delegation from Milograd the best of luck with their proposal.

Thought so.
In which case the badge is now irrelevant, anyway.
Therefore, AGAINST this repeal as all that it would effectively do is give Kalasparata extra publicity by adding another resolution that mentions them to the WA law-books.

but in all seriousness, and in no intention of spamming, i dont think you should be aloud to condemn a region because they said something that cant happen in real life in the role-playing forum. thats just wrong.
also, when Bears Armed said that he would vote AGAINST just because Kalasparata would just gain attention and publicity by having this passed, hes kindof already gaining publicity and attention by having this resolution in the first place, so that thinking is flawed.

In my opinion, a commendation or condemnation should not be repealed just because a nation has ceased to exist.

Secondly, I do not believe that the cure for superfluous resolutions is the passage of more resolutions.

Therefore, I plan to vote against this proposal because I believe that it is unnecessary.

Truthfully speaking, much of this resolution is a bit fluffy because it's hard to describe what's wrong with Kalasparata's condemnation without violating R4, so I went for the next best thing. Kalasparata, while I'm sure that he is a very nice person OOCly, has a notorious history of putting little thought into his roleplay ideas and metagaming. His condemnation itself references in-character content that was nothing more than him posting nonsensical ramblings with the intent of sounding like an evil nation ICly in my opinion. I don't believe that posting one-liners about poorly thought-out IC crimes is deserving of condemnation.

This is a typical :Kala: post:

Kalaspia-Shimarata wrote:Okay, thanks.
We'll give you a free nuke

I can definitely understand why people would think that wantonly distributing nuclear weapons is condemnable, but a nominee should put more effort and thought into their roleplaying to receive the recognition that comes with a condemnation. The fact that Kalasparata's condemnation has stood for long disgraces the Security Council.

Delegate Vinage wrote:Additionally, it was all just someone power roleplaying some sort of insane nation.... as well democratic nation. Since, like, totally every-single political party would support running people over as a punishment.

Anyway, yeah - the original proposal isn't a good piece of work and was based on a few rantings from some immature so-and-so.

Exactly.

Heck, most of the actions in the condemnation deserve a commendation instead :)

Personally, I just find it a waste of time. I set an example for my region by voting against it, to signify all the better things we could be doing besides pointlessly repealing condemnations of dead nations who were condemned for crimes I don't even want to know about. Who cares if it's dead? Leave it alone! No one's gonna go through the books fact-checking every resolution that the Security Council voted on. This is one giant filibuster.

Eurussia have voted IN FAVOR of the Security Council Resolution, Repeal Condemn Kalaspatra.

Our nation believes that the effect of condemnation had took its toll on the said region since it has ceased to exist.

Eurussia is currently advising other WA members of our region to support the said resolution!

I see little reason to repeal a condemnation of a nation that doesn't even exist.

Let it be known to the council that the Euran Government will not condone these savages declaring trustworthy members of the international communities to be corrupt. We hereby declare that for the next hour, my aides will sneak into your private rooms in the World Assembly building and defecate on everything you love, including any children present.

If you'll pardon the pun, we will give you a lot of shit for this.

Mr. Marshall, we shan't pardon a pun so execrable. I have instructed our most elite security force, the IEX, to infiltrate your capitol, break in on the meeting of the Euran legislature, and defecate on every Senator present, and then attach a tube containing our waste to your Head of State's office and lock the doors and windows.

Many an ambassador has found his foot in his mouth on one or the other occassion. I believe the ambassador of Valyria Falls might have mispoken. Whilst not for the same reasons, the The Kingdom of Simsantania will vote against the resolution. The crimes by Kalasparata cannot be pardoned simply because it no longer exists. A dead murderer is still a murderer. (Just an example. I am not likening the two.)

What is the motivation behind this proposal I wonder? Is this really nessasary. Ask yourselves these questions. I don't have and strong feeling either way other than to that we shouldnt tear apart our historic resolution just because they don't matter anymore. Oh well. The resolution passes, there is no going back now.

The motivation is this: Roleplay condemnations are usually reserved for long standing members of the community who roleplay excellently. Kalasparata fulfils none of these criteria. A typical Kalasparata thread was a medium sized text wall containing fantastically ridiculous bullshittery.
Is this really nessasary?
Yes.

Solid legislation no nation should be condemned based on heresay evidence. In writin several real life proposals myself I can suggest you segment each point and begin that segment with whereas.
