The Democatic Republic of Papon is baffled. Surely, 'clean prostitute' is an oxymoron. As far as the government is concerned there is no such thing as a clean prostitute.

However, the government approves the proposal as a means of having the freedom to eradicate the foreign curse of prostitution within the Democratic Republic of Papon's national borders.

With the repeal of Legalizing Prostitution well under way, I think it's time to drag out this old draft.

I made a similar comment on Snefaldia's proposal, so it is only fair I do so here as well: what about prostitutes who use protection? Tis rather unfair to rob them of their livelihood, when it is in fact perfectly safe if one uses protection.

I support this proposal as a potential replacement for the prostitution atrocity that will shortly be repealed.

Your requires clause where the act is legal or decriminalized as nations see fit, should require some sort of protection to be used by the parties involved.
We're a splinter nation; we believe in Meadowism. We're sapient Mustela Itatsi, distant cousins of the Mustela Erminea and the Mustela Nivalis who shunned the ways of the Meadow for their belligerent beliefs.

We're cheese-powered. So, surrender your cheese. Or else. Yeah... or else. We'll... uh... we'll do something.

Oh and meadows are totally awesome. We love meadows.

I think the title of the act is terrible. It suggests that if you have one of the STDs or STIs that you are "unclean" despite the fact that one can get such diseases through non-sexual contact. I think the title encourages a stimatized view of people with specific health conditions. We don't call people with cancer unclean, why should we call someone with AIDS unclean? And before someone argues with me, please be aware that there may be people, adults and minors alike, that may have one of these diseases through no fault of their own and that they will read what you say. Otherwise the act is fine.

*raises hand*

Can we all come together one day in a common room (like a chatroom?) and work bipartisanly to solve this issue once and for all? Unite around one proposal and campaign the SHIT out of it? Thank you.

I won't speak for everyone else, but I will happily campaign for (and vote for) either this draft or the one I am co-authoring with Ambassador Taranton from Snefaldia. I would hope that supporters of both/either proposal will do the same. Heck, I would be happy to get BOTH proposals to quorum - better too many at quorum than not any at all. I am not involved in the drafting phase here to add another resolution to my "count" - I'm interested in making sure that we protect all World Assembly nations from the matters addressed by each draft.

I can't speak for every WA member state, but we, in Mousebumples, had legalized prostitution prior to the damn legalization proposal being proposed. It will continue to remain legal even after that resolution's repeal, within our sovereign borders.

However, I respect the right of member states to make decisions for themselves regarding non-international issues. As such, I feel that prostitution should be determined by local governments - no matter what sort of tasteless comments your delegation may make to the contrary.

I wasn't talking about keeping prostitution legal. I just think banning prostitutes with STD's from intercourse is too harsh, if it can be done safely with condoms.

Clean Prostitute Act
Category: Free Trade
Strength: Mild

NOTING that prostitution is a controversial subject,

REALIZING that constantly passing and repealing resolutions dealing with prostitution is a waste of the World Assembly’s time,

DECIDING to end the madness once and for all,

The World Assembly,

DECREES that the decision regarding whether or not to legalize prostitution shall be left to member nations to make within the confines of international law,

REQUIRES that prostitutes working in nations choosing to allow prostitution be regularly screened for sexually transmitted infections and further stipulates that any prostitutes who are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection abstain from their work until their infection has been cured.

Vazdania shall vote for.

Noting that within Vazdania, Prostitution shall be banned and outlawed as harlotry, adultry, and immoral.
