Acknowledging Outer Rim2563 as the longest serving delegate of ICN, totaling 254 days to date,

And Remembering throughout its' history the ICN been and difficult to maintain,

Amazed that Outer Rim2563 maintained control of the ICN, without restricting freedom, while establishing a government and promoting the growth and prosperity of the region,

And Realizing since becoming Delegate, Outer Rim2563 has become one of the most important nations in ICN, and has been a positive force of leadership for the region,

Believing that any nation that has shown such superior leadership in promotion of that nation's region is deserving of recognition,

Hereby commends Outer Rim2563.

I see no exceptional actions at all, and all events in this resolution are in 1 region, and in no way affects the international community as a whole, which is what the WA is for. This is even worse than those roleplay resolutions I'm so against.

Look, I agree that this is more of a regional matter, rather than a WA Security (emphasis on the SECURITY) Council matter, but we can not be hostile towards one nation just because one of you has been playing NationStates the same amount of time or longer and have made the same or more accomplishments within your region. All I am saying is that, as diplomats, this nation should be appreciated in one way or another, but this should not be put into vote as WA issue.

I imagine whoever wrote this lobbied an absolute shitload of delegates to actually get it to quorum.

Just goes to show that you can get pretty much anything to quorum if you waste enough of your life on it ... though you obviously have a much lower chance of actually passing it.

Ohio, Texas, The Heartland (shutters at thought), and dozens of other regions have delegates that have served far longer, and have not been commended for it. This nation hasn't done anything actually notable. The only resolution (to my recollection) to commend a nation for the main reason of being delegate, was the one I authored to Commend Fudgetopia, a nation who was delegate of a Pacific region (constantly facing coups) and held her delegacy for 5 times as long as the one offered now.

Oh. Speaking of, let's compare their resolution's clauses to some of mine:

Remembering throughout NationStates history the Pacific regions have been unstable and difficult to maintain,

Amazed that Outer Rim2563 maintained control of the ICN, without restricting freedom, while establishing a government and promoting the growth and prosperity of the region,

This resolution really shouldn't have made it to vote. All they did was plagiarize a resolution of my creation. Which is disrespectful, annoying, and weak. Plagiarism is not just against game rules, but is one of the lowest things I think a WA author can do.

And now, I'll take a temporary leave from this thread, as not to say something in my extreme frustration that would reflect poorly on me and the region I represent.
