Many thanks for the feedback.
It is probably going to the vote soon but if it is rejected I will follow your amendment.
I also left out a '/' but that is the joys of being a dyslexic with a spellchecker.
Once again thank you and I hope you support it.
Best wishes,

Personally I think that now that we have a preview button we should include broken tags under RII. *shrugs* Just my two cents. It's a fairly bad cosmetics problem.

Nope you are both right and I have to put my hands up as it is my goof.
That said when it gets rejected, as it should, I will resubmit a better version.
Thank you for your input but the '/' aside is there any other improvements you could recommend.
Best wishes,

I feel like this is too RP centered.

Despite having been the spearhead of the immensely entertaining trainwreck known as Condemn gatesville, the Commonwealth delegation has reformed its morals in the interim, and refuses to vote for Commend the Region of Sion on the basis that the Commendation was submitted by the delegate of the region in question, who also happens to be its founder. A target cannot possibly Commend itself neutrally, and thus risks misleading the World Assembly into endorsing a possibly biased worldview as official policy, which would set a dangerous precedent.

That is to say, on a personal note, that the Commonwealth considers the use of the WA as a mechanism for self-congratulation more than slightly improper, and refuses to endorse the setting of such a precedent.

To: The International Community
From: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Constitutional Monarchy of Cembria
Subject: SC Resolution: Commend the Region of Sion

Dear Mr, Mrs,

After a close study of the resolution and the objective observation of the regional constitution and legislation of Sion, we can only conclude that the Security Council resolution does not correspond to reality. The articles on regional elections and the position of the Principality of Cherisey as both founder and eternal World Assembly Delegate are in conflict with the principles of democracy. Nonetheless, it is the same constituent nation of Cherisey who has proposed this commendation for 'Sion's efforts to avoid a humanitarian disaster in Xcursion', of which no clear evidence is available. Nonetheless, one must not forget that this specific region, however, has become almost uninhabited.

Cembria hereby votes AGAINST this resolution.

Yours faithfully,

I have no problems with role-playing being the source of a commendation, since that’s an important aspect of the game.

That said, could someone point me to the source of this role-playing, say a thread or something. If there is a role-playing thread to use as source material for the basis of this commendation it might go a long way towards helping people decide whether or not to vote on a role-playing based commendation. Without such source material this commendation would be groundless.

Region was created 24 days ago by refugees from Xcursion.

I don't care what it did. A region that young could not have done anything that's worth a NS-wide commendation.

No.

I am wondering where this Region of Xcursion can be found. The links in the proposal went to a region making fun of it. Also why has it been proposed by the founder and WA delegate of the region that has only been active 6 weeks with no time to do anything?

Holy shit, this is the first time I'll ever witness a commendation/law being declined! Oh my geezies!

Anyway, I've checked the region of Sion, they don't really stand out. I'm not voting against just because the commendation is RP-based -- I actually enjoy that commendations like that have been done, RP is a vital part of the NS fun system --, but they're just too young for such an honor. Hell, they've been around for less time than ME!

Against.

I honestly believe the only reason they would actually Commend, THEMSELVES (If you all look at the commendation itself, you would see that both the founder and it's Delegate was the one who put forth this Commendation, check both the person who put it forward cherisey and the region itself region_of_sion) is only to gain power and try to force their way into doing such a thing.

They are a completely new, unknown region and how else are they gonna get known and gain more "advantage" with things? By commending themselves and hope no one actually backchecks them

Edit: Not to mention some of the messages they have put publicly on their own region bored

28 days old and proposing a commendation for ourselves might have some bearing on the animosity. ;-)
- cherisey

Another condemnation has arrived; quite well written as well.
It says our behaviour has undermined "the credibility of the Security Council and possibly the whole World Assembly."
Needless to say I voted in favour of it. :-)

You're new. These are voted down on occasion - even though passage is much more common for C&C's. Of course, failures were much more common early on. I'd suggest checking out NSWiki's Security Council Timeline, if you want a more historical view.

Does anyone have a theory of why the founder/delegate felt it was needed to clear the regional happenings?

Glad this was defeated seeing as Coalition was the first refuge region to be made during the mass ejection incident (actually the second as Zoblacon made a temporary haven for those deemed unfairly ejected before they all went to Coalition when it became apparent that things were not going to get better). Also Sion was founded by one of the co-makers of Xcursion and uses its website, so I would argue that they are nothing more than a seceeding region opposed to the annexation by Galactic Republic (X violated the regional constitution when he gave his account to a member of Galactic Republic BTW)
