PASSED: Commend 10000 Islands

We support the proposal because we support TITO. We share the council's desire for a more....robust proposal, but that isn't enough for us to oppose the resolution.

I am not thrilled with the text of the proposal and the many errors it had.

I do feel though, that despite the errors someone looking at the resolution in the future (if it passes) will understand why 10000 islands was commended, so it’s not a horrible proposal. (Although I wish there was much more details.)

EDIT: (This is just a guess, but I'm going to say it anyway.) I don't claim to know much about TITO. I did notice that they reached their 1000th MISSION the other day, but, the resolution states:

WANTING to thank the HQ region of TITO, 10000 Islands, for defending 1000 regions from raiders invasion.

I would guess that some regions were defended multiple times over the years, and so 1000 missions may equal much less than 1000 regions. And aslo it would be possible that a few of those missions turned out to be false alarms anyway... (Again, just a guess.)

I didn't see it, and I practically live here in the SC, so I'm guessing most others probably missed it too.

I still have the bookmark, and that was on page 1 until many repeal NAZI post popped out. I'm not angry because of that, but many errors could be resolved with a simple post.

I just can't honestly vote for this one, even if TITO was a raiding region:

The World Assembly,
KNOWING the existence of TITO, the Ten thousand Islands Treaty Organization.

Knowing just doesn't fit here. Recognizing would be better. Perhaps some explanation as to what TITO does or has done might be feasible too.

RECOGNIZING TITO as one of the biggest and funcional defending alliance in NS world.

Really, sentences one and two could've been merged together. Also, I must say many browsers support some form of spell check. See, there it goes for me, it doesn't recognize "spellcheck" as a word even.

Raider's invasions or raider invasions. The latter working best. HQ should be written out seeing as this is a formal proposal.

Even the region in which we're commending isn't correct here - it's 10000 Islands, not Island. And commends needs an s. I'm not going to pretend I'm a grammar expert, because I'm not, but I just don't see commending 10,000 Islands only to repeal it two months later or so.

I mean, some points weren't even included, like:

The fact that their forum has a high post count, something that's bragged about on the world factbook entry.
Nothing is mentioned as to the longevity of the organization. They say they've performed 1,000 defenses (I'd be hard pressed to say they're all successful, as the proposal eludes, but I could be wrong), but nothing in the line of how long they've formed, when they formed, etc.

Being a former raider, there's probably other stuff I'm missing too. But, as it stands now, I can't honestly vote for this.

You'd vote for something that has quite a bit of grammatical and spelling answers, in which we aren't even commending the right region in the end of the C&C? I wouldn't.

Geez Todd, cool it. As for the commendation, the achievements of TITO speak for themselves, though I do wish the commendation was longer and MORE SUPPORTED, but for now, I'll accept it.

I don't believe regions should be commended for defending/raiding. Though I fear that is the dangerous precedent that this may set.
