No, this is much more jovial affair than that train wreck. It's a joke, everyone knows it's a joke and people are acting accordingly. It's getting voted down (boo, hiss!). :)

Democracy is just a nice word for very corrupt countries. It gives the perception that this is a nice region or country where politician A appoints his best friend with a ultrahigh salary for doing almost nothing.

It...really isn't a nice word for that. Yes, democracy has potential flaws--like every government type. Totalitarian regimes don't exactly have a great track record either, if you've paid any attention to the last two centuries. Concentrate that much power in the hands of a very small number, and you get that much more expansive and unchecked abuse thereof. I'd much rather have a thousand people getting cushy BS jobs, than having one person who lives in such ridiculously opulent luxury that they're equivalent to a thousand people being slightly rich.

Democracy is an ideal. But you can't tell me that autocracy, oligarchy, corporate government, or any other type DOESN'T bill itself as its most ideal form while often falling flat.

But even with all of the above said? The proposal is still blatantly stupid (the WA does not enforce democracy on its member nations), and still deserves to be voted against.

I would've liked to reply to the rest of your message, but it was very difficult to understand what you were attempting to say.

I certainly wouldn't. And all the posturing and other ridiculousness just makes this seem like even MORE of a badge-grab than it did to begin with. This is why I vote against most Condemnations--they aren't punishments at all, they're badges of honor, and that's stupid.

It's fun seeing the TWP message board and how Dilber has reacted to all this.

He nailed my head to the floor and screwed my pelvis to a cake stand until I changed my vote.

What the heck has been in the water supply around here lately that these crappy resolutions keep coming up to vote?

Against, with EXTREME prejudice.

Should there be an independent board deciding which proposals go to the GA and Security Council?

No. The only test is legality. After that it’s up to the voters to decide if the proposal is of sufficient quality to pass and that’s provided the author can campaign well enough to get it to quorum.

Unlike Condemn TCB, the author actually put some effort into this, even if the effort is marginal.

The author knows how to write and chose to write it in a silly manner, including lack of punctuation. Everything about it is deliberate rather than a plain inability to write or navigate the political landscape.

SOMEHOW STILL SHOCKED that Dilber has repeatedly taunted and bullied fellow nations such as Xoriet and Varanius even if the former completely deserves it

The United Regions Alliance recommends that nations vote FOR the resolution! During internal voting, 12 regions voted in favour of the resolution, 3 regions voted against, and 1 abstained. Outstanding victory!
