We have approved this, in the hope that a resolution that addresses the flaws in the original legislation can eventually be submitted.

Not to thread-jack, but I thought it would be beneficial if the Ambassadors who supported this repeal read the replacement draft as well.

Convention on Humanitarian Aid.

I wouldn't bank on the fact that the people supporting the repeal would necessarily support a replacement.

I'm aware of that. However, there are several that would support a replacement, and I posted the link for their convenience.

We would be much more inclined to accept a replacement resolution, rather than a full repeal. But I suppose our vote would be support.

Without the repeal there can't be a replacement.

Which is why our vote is for. But yes, I see how the wording would confuse everyone.

OOC: This only needs 10 more approvals. If you know a delegate who hasn't approved, maybe you could try and convince them? I won't be on by noon tomorrow, which is when the proposal expires if it hasn't reached quorum. I've saved the list of approvals right now, but if somebody is able to save the list before the expiration, it would help!

Alright, I'd submit this again as soon as you get the chance. I personally find it necessary that this gets repealed.

That was close. Last approval came in when the voting time was listed as "soon"! Glad it made it.

Congratulations on (so narrowly) making it to queue, Dr. Castro. We are confident that this will be passed.

Don't be so optimistic - this is a repeal and replace, after all. :p

You'll notice we didn't say anything on the replacement, of course. ;)

I TGed a few regions when it had 2 hours to expiry. I know at least 2 regions who approved as a direct result of that.

Congrats for making it to queue. :)

We support a repeal, and we look forward to an improved draft on the same principals.

Yes loops holes are never a good thing. All it takes is for someone smarter to come along and exploit the **** out of you.. Almost literally in some cases.

Another interesting thing I would like to discuss though. Humanitarian aid/welfare and all things in that area. Personally i'm against it, I would rather go back to the days of natural selection.. You know.. The days where if someone went and did something stupid they got themselves removed from the gene pool, thus creating a smarter future. Hell.. Its how we came to be. If you gamble your live away and we end up giving you your life back yes maybe you learned a little something but the rest of society just got brought down because of you.

Sometimes it takes a cold heart to make choices like these, but then again who said life was all butterflies and rainbows? When an arm is disfigured and wont work it is much better to amputate and put more energy into the rest of the body, that or the amputation makes room for a neat little prosthesis..

Yes for the repeal, but no on the aid itself.

The Imperium of Dinkamana is FOR this repeal. "On Humanitarian Aid" was littered with loopholes, which is why we voted against it. We thank the Ambassador from Glen-Rhodes for bringing this forth.

I, for one, will not support a replacement of that drek. I just want this resolution gone. So I'm supporting the repeal.

Not so much not reading, I think, as voting on intent. I'm guilty of it too...I can ignore a few issues. That said, I will support the repeal IF there is a redraft.
