Is there a market for smuggler’s services in your nation? □ No, our border patrol is so effective ■ No, we have legalized victimless crimes and have low taxes, smuggling is unprofitable. ■ Yes, there is smuggling. For many things there are no significant markets for smuggling. Such things that are ...

Hey, I'm basically away for the next two weeks with Xmas stuff, I'll try and be around a little bit. I'll take the liberty of fielding the Menel/Ctan tech question though. And Menelmacar, what exactly is the nature and purpose of the gravitic field you are projecting around my carrier as soon as it ...

The Battle of Nipton The machine gun was the bane of infantry. Shaketh was struck by one of the auto-cannons' 40mm bullet, which slammed into his chest and through it, blowing out of his back. Armour was defeated by the shot, and Shaketh stepped forward, propelled by the force of the exit 'wound' w...

I'm going to be replying later this week as Excedium's not available so there's no immediate need for me to post; I deputize Menelmacar to have my ships join in any future attacks on the Piercing Descent or the ship trying to help it escape that Ferinion makes until then.

Hey, C'tan,by your last post's quote referencing Fokkers, I assume you believe that my fighters executed the historic Immelman turn. However, as apparent in the quote, the historical Immelman turn was for planes with far inferior engines. Instead, my interceptors used the modern aerobatics maneuver...

Kiln Skies "The Immelmann turn was very successful because the aggressor quickly regained his height and could attack again and again. But later, when more powerful engines became available, it was a dangerous move, for the lower pilot could climb after the Fokker and attack when it hung almos...

Well I was planning to attack the space-russkie mercs and my bigger landing force was headed to some fifty km away (I think, I'd have to take a look at the post; some distance anyway) to begin landing to attack them, but I'm not sure if Menelmacar will get their employers to make them stand down at ...

Post made. Menelmacar, if you have any issue with the shield capabilities, please discuss. I based the result on this: ⋅ You stated that actual helium plasma was the vector for the weapon's energy. Helium plasma, like all plasma forms of matter, is ionized and easily influenced by electro...

The guns stopped. All fighting stopped. And no one else died by the C'tani hands; even missiles in flight altered their trajectories to avoid impact. Mines folded like flowers enfolding their petals around their cores once more, and the C'tani fleet continued to sedately drift, only making minor eva...

And just a question, would it block tachyon/micro-wormhole communications?

Tachyon transmissions are being spoofed, yes. Wormholes wouldn't be affected.

At least my two vessels carrying out their experiments are still safe. So that's a plus.

Wellp, that's why the C'tani are trying to jam everyone in planetary orbit, to stop you calling for reinforcements. ;)

OOC: That's a rather slimy reply, you don't mean to complain about people who RP... except sometimes they reply on storefronts anyway. As for time commitments, I've certainly had an invasion by AMF that fizzled during the anti-pony RP days with my pony-nation, which I mainly attribute to the fact th...

Excidium gets serious props for having basically known the C'tani were going to do that but not metagamed having that knowledge in any way.

This was the disposition of the C’tani Engagement Force at the first battle of Chri’riah: after the fleetmind Meravaid had positioned the C’tani craft in positions to support orbital space, the thirty four ships of the engagement force had assumed semi-equidistant positions around the planet. This w...

In fairness, in Menelmacar's post, Feri says to begin suppression fire at that range; certainly a ship that's randomwalking to avoid getting hit by beam weapons is somewhat suppressed, as it has to use power to evade.

ETA on my next post: evening tomorrow.

This was the disposition of the Necrontyr Harvest Ship Meravaid as the conflicting sides drew near Chri’irah. A single leviathan ship of about six to seven kilometres from bow to stern, it was made of a substance called living metal; this was not so much a form of nano or picotechnology as many enem...

The Lightning Rail ran through the city's perimeter in a sunken freight-way. Akator was not the largest of the many worlds of the Great Civilization, and indeed it only had a few hundred people present on its surface at any given time. It was used primarily to carry equipment and machinery from one ...

I feel like the scale of the response to this incident is out of proportion. The combined value of the ships that are going to be lost here will probably exceed the GDP of the planet they're fighting over, while the stray fire will cook whatever natives are left over anyway. We've gone beyond 'send...

The rain had started to weather the containers already, soft tidemarks of rust creeping in under the paint, giving them a sad kind of look under the wan field lights that had been set up under canvas awnings that kept the rain out of some areas. Firelight skipped and dappled off the canvas as smoke ...
