A Brilliant Void , edited by Jack Fennell, published by Tramp Press. Its a book of Irish Sci-Fi. Tramp Press are reasonably well known here as being a very decent indie publisher. I've read a few of their books before and I went to a panel discussion that had one of the two editors, so I have high ...

I believe actually, that blasphemy will still be illegal until the law itself is repealed. Only the constitutional imperative that we must have such a law was repealed. Not that it really matters, because this whole thing was a PR stunt about a piece of legislation that has no material effect on the...

Well, surprisingly, its Gavin Duffy who came out of that the best (other than MDH, of course). Looks like he could be a strong contender for second place, by process of elimination of which candidates are unbearable.

The closest I come to wearing any sort of accessory are my glasses, which I got from Tesco for 25 quid, and are duct taped together in two places. Pretty much the height of fashion, I know. The lenses are as thick as my little finger.

I wouldn't call a Nazi pure anything, personally, they might take it the wrong way.

So one thing Pat Kenny brought up in the debate last night was whether or not a president should engage in protest, in civil disobedience, and in illegal activities. He asked which of the candidates had been involved in the recent protests, and noted that Michael D had been absent, for example. So I...

"I-it's excessive to say bad things about Nazis" This is why Nazism has made a comeback in the US. Because so many people have lost their fucking political spine, or are pretending to out of either the delusion that Nazis can be controlled or sympathy for the fucks. It's excessive to call...

Who is the most right-wing candidate? That's who I'd go for. All that matters is the big picture. The only person with any chance of winning is a self-proclaimed socialist. Ireland doesn't really have any right-wing party of any note at all, unless you'd count neoliberalism as right wing (which, in...

Is it really dumb to say I wouldn't be friends with someone who would kill me if they came to power? Seems like a reasonable opinion to hold, as far as ostracising people for their beliefs goes. More reasonable than if I had said I would be friends with someone regardless of whether they would like...
