Gonna try to actually do some more data analysis this series, since we have the polls every week anyway and might as well use them for absolute mad science. I didn't save any of the ones from previous seasons, but maybe if I'm lucky the Wayback Machine has weekly archives of this thread from Fridays...

I thought it was okay. More detailed thoughts in the spoiler. New poll's up. I like the Stenza as arc villains, or whatever they're shaping up to be. Jodie is still stellar but her and Ryan especially had a bit of weird dialogue this episode. Now, a lot of Doctor Who characters have had to deal...

Episode 3 Title and Details Revealed I'm, uh, a little wary about this one. I hope it's handled well. On the one hand, the fact that Parks is described as a "civil rights campaigner" gives me hope they're not going to just portray her as a tired woman who just wanted to sit down like ...

Being Zygons doesn't neccesarily make them hostile. That would be a characteristic that lazy writing would provide. Name me an episode before this that presented Zygon's as good guys. Hell, I'd sooner buy the DALEKS as sympathetic. Least that's been done moderately well before...and God-awful that ...

Case File One - The Stenza

Nice to be getting this kind of supplemental material again, even if it doesn't really add anything "new".

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was proper, full on rubbish. The Hell you say. That episode is great. Cleopatra, dinosaurs, Mitchell and Webb as murderbots, David Bradley, that improvised kiss on Rory , a good joke about balls...I can go on. When Ameri and I agree on a piece of media, even to the point of...

You know, Doctor Who is supposed to be a show for the whole family that does fun things sometimes. This isn't Game of Thrones. Just because an episode here and there is actually just some good-natured fun (Dinosaurs! On a spaceship!) doesn't mean it's rubbish. That's another one that I actually lik...

Gosh Heaven Sent was good, it's a good job that was the last episode of the series so Moffat couldn't bugger it up.

Heaven Sent was great, and Hell Bent was fittingly almost as good.

For our Liberty; For our Territories! Pro libertate nostra, pro finibus nostros Last should be nostris (ablative), but aside from that, yeah. How would one say, "Never before has such glory been seen" ? Numquam prius talis gloria visa est! How would one say, "Never before has such gl...

I mean, sure there's drums, but there's also a really heavy synthy bassline and I'm not sure how you're not hearing it. Aren't you like a musician or something? Maybe you're just particularly good at isolating the sounds? My high school Music Theory teacher just felt the urge to laugh and doesn't k...

THEY BROUGHT BACK THE ORIGINAL THEME SONG AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Listening to it back I don't think the drums are an adequate substitute for a proper bass. What would have been really good is matching the Derbyshire melody with the Howell bassline, which are the t...

Depends what you have access to. If you're in the UK, every post-2005 episode is currently on iplayer and Netflix. Start with Series 1 episode 1. Series 5 or or the current one, 11, would also be good points to jump in. Series 2 and 8 would be okay, but not ideal, since those introduce new Doctors ...

All I can say, is damn, that was a good way to start things off. That was probably one of the best introductions to a new Doctor the series has done in a long time. The plot was fairly simple, which was, I thought, a good move, as it allowed more time to focus on the character work and introducing ...

OP updated. A reminder to please use spoiler tags. I liked it. A lot. Jodie is the Doctor, very effortlessly so. Graham and Ryan were the standouts, I agree, but I expect Yaz will be more developed soon. Poor Grace! She was my new fav. Segun Akinola is a genius. Overall, probably Chibnall's best...

Reginula nubenda est.

There's not really a good word for "princess" in Latin, so "reginula" literally means "little queen".

So I'm super excited but can anybody recommend how I'd be able to watch it - American and, unlike when series 10 was happening, I don't have cable/satellite/television of any kind so I can't watch it on the television. Any way to watch it online when it airs or shortly after? Like would I be able t...

I would really love to get a few polls in a row on Bredesen that have some degree of consistency. These last few have been all over the place.

We have a new promotional video. All specially shot footage, I'm sure, so nothing really new to be gained, mostly a hype thing. I like it, although I think maybe the choice of music is a little... questionable (but that's trailers for you sometimes). Song was a bit shit but other than that okay Bas...

Confirmed officially, along with the title of the first episode. "The Woman Who Fell To Earth". That title requires at least one in episode Bowie reference. I mean, you just don't name an episode that if you aren't going to. I guess we find out October 7th if Chibnall is a coward or not.
