May I have some of that popcorn? *munches* Hey, thanks! As for the RR...the RR isn't something that someone can own , much less give away. It's really more something to try to become the zen of, as it were. The RR delegacy has always been unrelated to power, tied to a far wider system...and so it ca...

The discussion about TRR's future might be better suited to TRR's forum , or at least a new thread here. I'd considered doing that, but given the RR's (and my) interregional role and the very, very inactive nature of the RR forum, I thought it better to have the discussion where it would be more re...

Kandarin. I am disappointed that there is not a single mention of the RRA in your farewell post. No recognition of all those valiant soldiers who have bravely defended your delegacy. No salute for us who worked hard to show the Rejected Realms was more than just a sinker but also home to an army of...

(I'm posting this here because the mod list that Issues Editors are on despite not being mods is here. If this belongs in Technical or Got Issues, please move it to whatever seems most appropriate) On account of my imminent general departure from NS, I won't be able to act as an Issues Editor any lo...

Thank you, everyone, for your wishes, your advice and your kindness. :) I'll miss you all too. For those with an interest in the weirdness factor of not seeing me in the RR...I suppose the easiest and safest way to make the transition would be to just give Nai my main nation. There'd be some confusi...

Oh, sure, there's supporting evidence.

It's a bit of a read, though. Don't worry, it starts looking like a conventional RP at about the three thousandth post or so. ;)

Kandarin's Last Will and Testament

It has now been more than seven years since I started playing Nationstates, and I am happy to say that the game and its people have been a delightful companion through good times and bad. NS and NSers have taught me many things and given me a new perspective on many things, and the game has given me...

So basically, it's a resolution that turns a region into RR/Lazarus as far as raider/defender tactics are concerned. That's....not quite...the counter-raider tool that it sounds like. For one, if this was used in any region where the raider tagline of "but it was a barely acive region!" wa...

Y'know, if you have so many objections with the basic functions of the organization, nobody is requiring you to be a member of the WA. Folks pull out their main nations and act via puppets all the time.

I don't see the issue with delegates having enhanced votes. It's never been a problem before and major Delegates used to have far more power than any Delegate has now. Anyone can have two de facto votes - you cast yours, you endorse your delegate, and you put pressure on your delegate to vote the wa...

I'm afraid there is something about the vote mechanism that I don't understand: When a WA Delegate votes, his vote counts for the endorsements he received plus one (his own vote). But if one or more nations he was endorsed by wants to vote individually (accordingly or in contrast with the Delegate'...

You've spent all this time fighting tooth and nail for the ability to use a recruiting method that doesn't even work...and you accuse feeder delegates of wasting their time protecting their communities from rulebreakers?

Suggestion: Sort nations by activity

Many regions, particularly larger regions with offsite forums, often like to send out announcements, warnings, event invitations, and so forth to get members - many of whom may not be able to follow the nuances of a regional forum all the time - involved in important events. In the past, many have s...

American here. My ancestors came from so many different places that I can't really tack any more adjectives on.

Max did a survey sometime in the early days of NS (spring '03) that asked the whole playerbase where they were from. Almost exactly half were Americans.

It's been proposed and is in the works, but (as the link says) depends on some nuts-and-bolts changes in system code in order to happen.

We had this discussion a long time before the resolution was first submitted - before Rule 4 came out, in fact, which means any Rule 4 discussion should stop at this point. I wrote a potential Commend for my dear friend DFD, the Gameplay icon, as well as a potential Condemn for my nation's terrifyin...

There's no "declare war" button, so essentially yes. Think of it as group storytelling - the owners of two nations writing the story of their nations' war. As such, it's expected to follow some rules of continuity and realism, although what is required and how seriously said rules are take...
