Oh, I see what you mean. I think I just got used to how the interface looked. I can read the text just fine, but you are right. It could use more contrast. As for the banners, (and as it turns out the flags too,) after a quick history check, it looks like that is done intentionally. I think the brig...

Hmmm... Personally, I haven't had any issues with the dark theme, but I am not sure if that's just because I am used to what you are seeing or perhaps your web browser is displaying things differently from mine. It may be helpful to post screenshots for comparison so we can see exactly what you are ...

From my understanding NSWiki.org is owned by NationStates. It shouldn't be treated like a 3rd party site. Maybe it needs to be integrated into NS? Unless NS has a specific reason they do not want to do that, which would be unfortunate, because I've always loved NSWiki and when you rely on it becaus...

Hey Todd, I appreciate the work you do with NSWiki. The members of my region and I used the site almost religiously until the dispatch feature was released. Once that was released we migrated some of our pages over the NS site proper. The reason we switched most our nation pages to dispatches was pe...

Isn't that exactly what you are trying to do, though? You bought a card and you are immediately trying to sell the same card, which is what the cooldown timer is meant to stop. The fact that you have a second copy is only a minor detail.

2. Log out and wait 28 days. This will delete your current nation, allowing you to do #1 except with the same name. This is in case you're really attached to the current name. This is bad advice. If you do this, you will have to wait 5 years for the name to become available again. Name release is c...

I actually did a statistical analysis of WA member states and how their various scores differed from the general NS population for a political research methods class. This was years ago, but if I remember correctly if you can figure out a way to get a true random sampling, you only need to sample ab...

Hello, on issue 739, "In Loco Parentis", option three has a slight issue. The second sentence reads: “Clearly capability varies from child to child, but some of us are obviously more advanced than others." The issue here is that the word "but" is supposed to link two contras...

I'm pretty sure the game wouldn't make that highly pedantic and petty distinction. Meh, I was simply explaining what "expat" means to Trotterdam. Mousebumples was the one who listed them as a separate demographic. However, I do think the difference is there and it has more significance th...

No, expats retain the citizenship of their motherland, whereas immigrants do not. They are similar but different.

Ahem... Expats are simply citizens of a country who chose not to live there. Your nation can have expats of other nations. Make sense?

I understand what you are saying, but I think we agree that Z-Day success should be based on performance during the entire event, not just the first 12 hours. Right? Besides, I doubt they would set a resurgence just an hour or two before the clock runs out, but that kind of thing would turn the most...

I would like to preserve the "event" nature of Z-Day, but am interested in adding some new layer that would allow it to run longer, like maybe even a Z-Week. At the moment a lot of people miss out because they aren't around during the critical hours. The biggest problem that I have seen i...

A better solution is to simply eject them from the region. Done problem solved. Time spent? 15 seconds at most.

As the one who recommended it, I did not have any issue with it. I personally tested everything on the dispatch, but I am by no means a technical expert. Any chance of allowing us to appoint ROs without any permissions? We have a position that is almost entirely off site who we want to display, but we don't want to list him separately on the WFE. I know, it is purely cosmetic, but it would be nice. We considered giving him a permission over something...

I think option #2 is by far the best bet. Like Sedge said, we already have embassies. There really is no need to have super embassies. I think annexing ups the stakes a bit on the R/D game, and it allows imperialist regions to truly be imperialist. I think it can only do good things for the gameplay...

Honestly, go for it. Just make it and release it. I am sure you will find a user base if it is halfway decent. I mean, look at NS++. A year and a half ago I am sure people scoffed at the idea of using an NS browser extension, but now it is the #1 unofficial utility associated with NS. Build it and t...
