Down A Slippery Slope [IC/Open - See OOC/MT]

OOC In late 2009, the United Kingdom's centrist government introduced the twin "Modern Slavery Act" and the "Piracy Act". In an unusual display of partisanship, the Acts received a not inconsiderable amount of support on both sides of the House. The only real opposition came...

This is an interesting RP concept. I have a question though. Would you consider the ‘sponsorship’ system of foreign guest workers in the Arab world (such as Lebanon, Kuwait, UAE) as modern slavery? Some human rights groupa do due to the relatively poor conditions and restricted rights in most areas...

So, this isn't a character RP - more of a national one. Sorry, I should have been more clear. That said, if you're super keen to play a specific character then that's fine. Just get ready to start swimming, because your Corvette may not be long for this world. In that case, I'll send Captain Spence...

This looks interesting. Happy to be the Murre 's Royal Marines OC, either as a Sergeant, Colour Sergeant, or Lieutenant depending on the size of the complement. Character name can be Spencer James. So, this isn't a character RP - more of a national one. Sorry, I should have been more clear. That sa...

Not to be a downer, but isn’t Excalibur Tiger’s copywritten property? Don’t know if you’ve got his permission (assume you have), but if not - this doesn’t really seem like cricket to me.

I've only ever heard it used by the Irish. By which we mean we've never heard it used outside of Father Ted. Was in Dublin the other day for an interview - heard someone say “feck”. Was also told “Don’t you worry boys, you’ll be grand so you will. If an old eyjit like me can do it, anyone can.”

June 7, 1944: 319 squadron is back at base, celebrating a successful mission in support of the D-day landings, with copious amounts of alcohol and reminiscing White: "Hey, Page, remember when we all thought Sam was a bloke?" Talbot: "Bloody hell, feck that, remember when she almost s...

The British Government has announced £2bn for a new fighter - apparently to be called “Tempest”. Can’t wait to see how BAE fuck this one up.

4-3 Croatia. Some really average penalties by both sides, to be honest.

Have you heard the news? The Grenadiers certainly have. It’s coming home. But those are the sheep shaggers... And a Coldstreamer on the cymbals... What can I say? My phone resolution isn’t good enough to see the cap flashes, and I just assumed. I’m ashamed. Either way; Russia. Croatia. Penalties. I...

White hauled himself, kit and all, up over the duckboard of the truck and into its dark interior. It smelt strongly of diesel fumes. It, in all honesty, was not something that Henry White - son of nobility and member of the British gentry - was used to doing. He blotted at the flat bench seating wit...

White slung the boxy American machine gun over his shoulder. He knew it was approximate in weight to the SMLE rifle he was once so accustomed to, but now this new gun was on his shoulder and it felt far, far heavier than the 11 odd pounds it really was. He felt, perhaps, there was more than the weig...

Whilst I can see the point, I don’t think a table full of assorted weapons would be too much of a stretch. I’ve always thought Excalibur to be part of an inter-service, pre-War Operation - somewhat like an SOE version of the Avengers, if you like. I don’t know how much of that will make it into our ...

She’s giving me a lift here today and doing…something else, I’m sure. "Ah!" White said, conspiratorially "Official business, is it? Well, I shan't press you. Walls have ears, after all." He fished around in his uniform pocket, his fingers closing around the cigarette package the...

That Auschwitz/Hiroshima/Nagasaki thread is a fucking trainwreck. One edgelord Nazi apologist (apparently a British half-Japanese guy) ranting about "Zionists" and "Rothschilds" and "freemasons" and "NWO" and "genocide against Tibet" and "mass ...
