While I agree that in realife religion is pretty much responsible for holding back science, there are as mentioned religious fringe groups that actually embrace science fully. However those don´t happen to have any real influence in realife. As of such, I think this beta is a good idea. Since NS is ...

Well this will be one hell of a task. Nonetheless I´m looking forward to it! I guess this will probably take a looong time though... Giving me enough time to experiment with my tax rate more extensively in the current system. As of such I will probably be trying to get taxes down again at least time...

A lot of things indeed get weird with with larger or especially more extreme nations. Hmm well true, that then begs the question how you would exactly fix the tax system effectively. The graph sadly also ignores consumer taxes on products or services purchased which would explain the disparities of ...

Alright. So on issue #158, "Regarding Robbers' Rights" The Issue, as you know, is about whether or not a homeowner can shoot a trespasser. For reasons unrelated to this post, I picked no. 1: "Nervous homeowners have been blamed for rising death rates amongst carol singers and locksmi...

I think we fundamentally disagree on civil rights. I can't read this option and see it as doing anything but taking away the rights of citizens albiet mildly. Keep in mind, NS tracks civil right relating to crime and punishment. It is not sensible for that option to decrease civil rights. He only f...

A good way to look at it (especially since your economy is made up of government and state-owned industry) is to consider what NS calls “Effective Tax Rate” as the sum of all taxes and fees your people pay for goods and services from BOTH government and state-owned industries. Example, a road toll ...

No it´s not, you may wanna look up the KGB and stalin documents that were made public in 1989 by Gorbatchov. Yeah, I trust that as far as I can throw a gulag. Oh jesus not the holdomor issue again... Yes by 16 countries(1 of them being the Ukraine itself  ) against... what? 180+ other countri...

We don´t for that matter. Because if that was the case, I and other nations wouldn´t have a 100% income tax to begin with. Since 100% of all income is taxed already, there is literally nothing left to tax any industry on either, nor is there technically speaking any money for people to keep the ind...

Problem is that since 1989 that death toll is officialy around 1 million for stalin, and around 7-20 million for the entire Sovietunion. So that article is old cold war propaganda that has been actually long debunked. Also if so many churches were destroyed, it begs the question why Russia or the e...

Better start posting Stalinist memes and advocating for white genocide, I guess? :p Stalin was a genocider and...

That's cute and all, but we really should stop being so generous to them. We're giving that sort of "ironic" garbage too much of a free pass, and we keep dismissing it as just "trolling" and "satire" when it's pretty obvious most of them are at least sympathetic to the...

When it comes to vote fraud... We had some manipulations of votes in the past, and this election they increased once again. Vote fraud is becoming an ever increasing problem in Germany too unfortunately. The CDU is not the left, it is a centre-right party. Right. Hence why the parties will refuse a...

Just because its possible doesn't mean it's right, 4+ terms isn't right or normal. Erdy has the votes of the people, just like Merkel, he may be a neo-Ottoman dick but he is consistently voted in by the Turkish people with significant majorities, in that regard he's no more undemocratic than Merkel...

If we’d returned to Post-Versailles territory after the Second War, with no Communist occupation for decades we would have had a continuously stable birth rate, and a larger population. We could be an even better example of democracy than we already are. No you wouldn't. Birth rates would have fall...

With American troops on German soil and entire German armies having laid down their arms in front of American officers and with the German high command offering an unconditional surrender to allied high commands, it is not unreasonable to say that the United States conquered Germany - in unison wit...

With this nation, I just answered #023: Uranium Deposit Promises To Enrich @@NAME@@ with the first option, to cut down the rainforest, and my Eco-Friendliness just rose by 275%. That was an increase of 550~ points, which now puts me in the top half of the world's nations by Eco-Friendliness. I don'...

The US conquered both Japan and Germany - it's unlikely there is nothing that it can learn from either societies. Rome lasted a lot longer than the United States, even in its Republican form, but the comparison was mostly tongue in cheek. Except that it hasn´t really conquered Germany... Japan yes.

Property rights are sacrosanct. Also every government action should be able to be contested in court. Otherwise you aren't a very democratic society but a borderline authoritarian dictatorship Other democratic countries have eminent domain, and court oversight. But if it's not Mercia, it's not demo...

What? That people have rights and can't be deported like animals? The Government should have bought all the land along the route before building tbh. This is why we can't have nice things. So... Reminds me that... Maglev rail networks hardly need any maintenance. Maglevs however of course like any car or train need regular maintenance. The rail network however hardly needs any thanks to zero friction. Still need the sales of tickets to cover the cost of trains and cars. I can see the use o...

That's the point. The cost of laying 100 miles of track over open ground is nearly nothing. It's when the track is laid in urban areas that the cost increases. Those 100 miles of track in the middle of nowhere have to be maintained as well, and they don't get the benefit of getting priority, nor wi...

Also depends on terrain a bit. The more even the terrain the cheaper it will be. And 90% of the US isn't flat Not gud then. However, construction and maintenance costs for roads will use automatically increase somewhat. So when it comes to terrain there is nothing you can really do about it. Either...
