I think I've asked this before in the days of yonder, but is simply issuing soldiers with flack jackets to protect them from shrapnel sufficient? This question is for both Padnak and a significantly more developed puppet; given that shrapnel is responsible for the bulk of battlefield deaths and flac...

E.g. http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/Japan/Monos/JM-116/img/JM116-front.jpg http://www.1jma.dk/articles/1jmaIJAc1.htm <<< this is a good primer on the IJ...

Thermal optics have helped to alleviate that issue. Does anyone know what the rational behind Russia's creation of a national guard out of the internal forces? Reorganization and renaming. They basically did the same thing anyways but with more of a policing and active role. If the USA still had an...

Related to all this super soldier nonsense, Is there any actual validity to the idea of creating an 'elite' force in a military that is primarily conscripted and lacks a strong sense of professionalism in order to instill a greater degree of professionalism and morale in that force? Something like I...

Does anyone know of any good resources related to the Sino-Indian War of 1962?

Also what would you guys recommend for resources when it comes to the PLA during the Mao era and today? I'm interested in mainly organizational structure, tactics and training, although anything would be interesting

Is it possible to load something like an AKM by way of stripper clips/ could an AKM (or derivative weapon) be modified to allow loading by stripper clips?
