I understand the work that has already been done by Sunset, Commerce Heights, and many others, but I think a better, more comprehensive model can be made.

Constructing A New Nationstates Economic Model

Hi all, Its been a terribly long time since I was active on this site and I figured a nice little project might be a good way to try to get back into the swing of things over the holiday break. I feel as though the current method of determining economic statistics for nations is inadequate. I think ...

Re: A Hunting We Will Go (IC Thread)

With the zipper to his sweatshirt tentatively and tightly gripped between two fingers, Sage stepped off the shuttle to guage his new surroundings. Just as he had told Tia, his first breath was just as telling as his first sight of the planet. He had once been told that smell, above all other senses,...

Re: A Hunting We Will Go (IC Thread)

An almost unbearable knot of anxiety and nausea gripped Sage's stomach when he learned he would be presenting to the group. It wasn't the spotlight that bothered him. He felt at ease under scrutiny. In fact, he reveled in the spotlight. The realization that had cast Sage Simone out of his comfort zo...

Re: A Hunting We Will Go (IC Thread)

At the mention of their imminent arrival, Sage nodded his head almost absent-mindedly as he glanced around for one of the shuttles portholes. Unable to find a good angle from which to view the approaching surface he placed a curled fist up to his mouth and began rubbing his teeth up against his inde...

Re: Gaze of the Abyss [Closed RP]

Upon the food's arrival, savoring his meal became Bismark's sole concern. While he would never willingly admit it, he had come to love food, perhaps, a little too much in recent years. While during his youth he had sported a tall and lean build, he had added ten to fifteen pounds to that frame in th...

Re: A Hunting We Will Go (IC Thread)

Sage nodded as he repeated the Tartarans name in confirmation. He then rose to follow her towards the shuttle, pausing only to adjust the hair beneath his cap by running a hand through it quickly and giving it a slight flip. Hands in his pockets, he started to lag behind Tia as he began to attempt t...

Re: A Hunting We Will Go (IC Thread)

After all the commotion caused by the young lady, who had evidently just met a god-among-men, dissipated, Sage offered what appeared to be a labored, yet genuine, chuckle and nod. "Chyea, I hear ya. Well, actually, I'm here in lieu of--nevermind. Name's Sage. I'm from Largent." He extended...

Re: A Hunting We Will Go (IC Thread)

When the gunshot rang out it appeared that there was only one young man who did not jump to attention. Sage Moonblood Simone was too cool to be surprised--or so he would claim. In addition, he was too cool for safaris. It just so happened that he and the state saw the matter in very different lights...

Re: Gaze of the Abyss [Closed RP]

While the conversation had centered around the debate between legal and illegal sentience, Travis Imnel had been listening intently, choosing his words carefully, as he prepared to offer constructive points to the discourse. Then, at the mention of a nuclear terrorist attack--in an unconscious effor...

Re: Possible troll

My guess is that this will not be ruled a troll. According to the One Stop Rules shop the name doesn't appear to be in violation of the rules. The nation also seems to have an appropriate motto, national animal, and currency. As for the post I thought it was actually rather thoughtful.

Re: Gaze of the Abyss [Closed RP]

"My goodness Minister. How very elvish of you," Bismark jabbed good-naturedly, as he returned to the group, having fetched something to drink. "I, personally, see it in a very different light. Not long ago I boarded a ship and travelled incomprehensible distances to visit the Orion Em...

Leaving his partner to continue the conversation with the representatives of Orion, the Duke turned toward the Skeelzanians and Dominion delegates. "Not to mention how difficult simple things such as transportation and basic amenities become," he interjected as politely as possible. "...

He's probably a good DJ and performer, but he's not an artist, because he doesnt write his own songs.... Same as Elvis wasnt because he didnt... In a sense he does. He may use small sections of notes an lyrics from other songs but he arranges them into something that is definitely his very own, whi...

Re: Woman fined $1.9 million for illegally downloading songs

I should begin by saying that I agree the situation is ludicrous but I believe the reasoning is that when most people download music it downloads automatically to your shared folder that people can then upload from. If 80,000 people uploaded, even indirectly, from her folder, then that is probably ...

Jamming on a laptop?

This past week I attended a music festival in Tennessee. One of the late night performers was an artist named "Girl Talk." If you are not familiar with Girl Talk you can (legally) download his album for free at myspace.com/girltalk. I suppose I should warn you about some of the language se...

Re: Gaze of the Abyss [Closed RP]

The Largentian starship Nocturnal hung in lonely immobility above the planet Steel Butterfly. Inside the two Largentian delegates prepared to board their transport to the surface. The two strutted down to the loading bay, locked in heated debate undoubtedly brought on by prolonged time spent togethe...
