Hey all. Hope the summer is treating you all well. Just a heads up that Italy and I are discussing a 'swap'. Basically we will trade Corsica and Vaud/Geneva. He gets Corsica and I, at long and fulfilling last, will be able to get my Swiss Guards. Praise Gawd. I don't think there'll be any objections...

Amerqiue – it’s great to hear from you. That was a good slice of information that filled in a lot for me as well. Let me also apologize to Chrin on the side for not responding to the character RP sooner. I’ve been monitoring the boards but have been to flat out to do anything other than work or slee...

So, I know I said I wouldn’t chime in anymore on the Great War on account of EP’s reserve –haha, no pun intended!— but some fantastic points have been raised and, well, I am going to continue commenting. It is a foreign idea to me, and I am sure that it would have been to any military planners at Ve...

I respect your points EP. So, really, without more explanation, I’ll just lean towards the same: it happened. I suppose, really, there is no reason to go over it in detail if not everyone wants to. It would sort of defeat the purpose. I will say, however, to WoS, that I don’t think the French at lea...

Hot on the hobnailed boots of BG… Yah, I knew the idea of RPing out the Great War was dead-on-arrival. How can we have fun RPing something that has a foregone conclusion, after all? I just thought I’d float the idea, because, well, it may have been fun. My last word on the matter is maybe we could R...

Just a thought -- again, I know it will most likely be shot down for very good reasons -- but would anyone like to RP out the Great War? I don't know if it is easy feasible, but it would be smashing fun? We'll need to get everyone's detailed thoughts on this, of course, but it might be a way to expl...

The ‘French Apartment’, Palacio Nacional The information garnered by the marquis’s two maréchaussée escorts can be summed up with a gesture made by the senior of the pair when they reported back to the foreign minister. He tilted his hand back and forth. M. de Grosbois simply nodded. Then came the ...

Awesome Chrin! I can't wait to see where this goes -- I'm working on a worthy post, and should have something for you manana. As to your point, internal divisions aside, I just don't see that affecting victories in their own little theatres. I don't see how, for example as I said, humongous Valendia...

So many superb points have been made, but, of course, that is the benefit of being part of such a superb community. Chrin, I quite agree with you about tension able to be built into any type of RP. In fact, I’m excited about the character RP we just started in Esplanadia especially considering the f...

TCB--you must have read my mind. France being Oakist rather than Aventine does make more sense and indeed is not without precedence IRL if we think of 'Catholic' France's monarchy not hesitating for a moment to invade Italy against the popes objections. With the more gallican church I've presented (...

Very briefly...and with the admission I am extremely biased on this issue ^^... Given the lack of a WWI and a centralist royalist government I think that France would have fought tooth and claw against any valendian invasion. The upshot in my mind would be a World War I like stalemate around Lille, ...

Oh no need to stand corrected EP: I'm not trying to say an absolute monarchy in 2016 is a pillar of stability, just that it's currently in a calmer place in its troubled history. Naturally I agree the border would be tight, no Schengen Agreement in AMW I think. I couldn't disagree with choke points ...

Thanks for the clarification Chrin. If you don't mind I may just introduce myself into it briefly soon. Heya EP, Thanks for the welcome, it’s so great to be back and factbooking once again. Please do check out the factbooks everyone, I have the overview and the nature of the government up now. Just to speak to questions of instability, I’d like to point out that although there were several revolutions...

I very much look forward to the RP Chrin, let me know when you get things squared away and feel comfortable with me doing a post myself.

Oh and BG – I didn’t neglect the Igovian guerillas point, in fact I’m really looking forward to it. That also transits well to what I wanted to speak about with Chrin. I haven’t had a chance to get it on the factbook yet, but I wanted to say France and Esplanada may share drugs as a common factor. I...

Thanks for the awesome response BG. I am working on a prospective factbook as we speak, but will hold off a bit until more people chime in about Africa. Hey all. That is great info too LRR, thanks for the comments. I imagine France and Gandvik, given fears of driving Valendia and Walmington too close, may not in fact have a formal alliance. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if there had been a few dynastic marriages, maybe even between the royal fa...

Hey BG. I WILL stick around, even if there is hibernation. I will make good of AMW France I promise. Good to hear from your again. As regards Napoleon, he would be the logical end to a Revolution and make simpler a Restoration. So I will leave it to the community. As to any African colonies, I'm hap...
