As evidenced by my lack of a sign-up, I'm not even close to being remotely active on NS anymore. I'm finishing a thesis and battling illness and neither will abate for the next couple months. Therefore I resign my WBC Council seat, effective immediately. I know it would have taken effect after this ...

Sorry for the late add of my roster, but it's nothing unexpected and hopefully its absence was no big hindrance.

The Bulletin: Arnao is back for his fifth WBC as manager of the Lumai after a second consecutive trip to the playoffs in WBC 43. However, another Round of 32 performance may not be enough to keep the National Association at bay. The team is trying to find new footing, with the youngest generation of...

Congrats to our three new councillors, new President, and new VP! It's been a pleasure serving as your VP for this past term. It was a real slog but I made it through :P

Congratulations to the champions and commiserations to the runner-up. It was a well-RP'd and well deserved run for both of you, and for so many others who made late runs in the tournament. And a big thank you to Cassie for another flawless hosting job! WBC 27 (hosts: Saintland & Maklohi Vai): 43...

A lot of what I can say about the Senate I've said before, but it bears worth repeating that the Senate provided me a social and political outlet during some of my most formative years, particularly my late teens, that I don't think any other community could have provided. Similarly, serving as Head...

OOC: Sorry for the lack of RPs so far. Just finished exams yesterday and have a brief respite before my end-of-term commitments start to kick in.

Lumako Kurukapai provides a review of qualifying to this point, and of the Lumai's performance in the last five games

"Mister Speaker, I applaud this body's decision, and the great speed at which the House of Tribunes has in fact been removed from our bureaucracy 'after' the passage of this bill. Now a question: does the government intend to support Galatea's entry into the Eurozone? Does the government intend...

I count the following:

Yes: 9 (900,000 votes)
No: 7 (700,000 votes)

As to RP scores, there were not enough RPs on either side to influence the above outcome.

As such, I can make the initial certification that “Yes” has won. A second count by an admin is needed to confirm this result.

It looks like the Character Database and the Democratic Party thread have been archived or something. In any case I'm getting "thread does not exist" errors when I try to access them. Edit: oh, and the House of Tribunes one too? That means they’ve been auto-culled by the F7 tool. They’re ...

Just in case anyone is intested in using it: I came across an older (about WBC 26?) thread involving umpires from different nations, and I'm working on a Version 2.0 of it, in preparation for a possible future bid (although with a possibly 75-100 in future...). Ironically, most of what I have so fa...

The Bulletin: Arnao is back for his fourth WBC as manager of the Lumai after a return to the playoffs in WBC 42. However, his seat is still hot, and the expectations are high. Koilani Ruputuo, the last remaining starter from the WBC 23 team, has retired, as has Katwo, the LOOGY since WBC 23. The onl...

The EU Referendum voting period will open 15 hours from the time of this post. I will make another thread before that time, but it will not be right at the start of voting, so please be conscious about when you click "submit" in that thread.

Ok, re-doing this for real now, with proper edits and what not. Per the House passage of the European Union Referendum Act , and its subsequent smooth sailing through the House of Tribunes and the Presidential Office, we will shortly begin a campaign period for an EU Referendum. Some important dates...

My mistake on the legislative process, sorry!

The bill says nothing about a randomness factor one way or another. A randomness factor is what we had discussed prior, but considering it's not in the bill, it won't be in the final process either.
