Example of the description text going haywire with foreign characters (I know it worked before): I expected the leader of my issues subsidiary to be Nicolás Maduro, not Nicolás Maduro.

To be honest, I would support taking a look at the idea of conditional categories that only list nations that meet a certain criteria. One of the reasons for supporting this is because I am planning to recommend an opt-out function for Z-day this year, due to the timing with a particularly nasty pan...

I have to say that the main location is likely to remain in the equivalent to the United States, not just because of the geographic narrative of the lore, but because they have not reinvented air travel to a point of general affordability. The United States is still a terrible mess in 2287. However,...

What if I were to say a massive metropolis like New York City? If I recall correctly, they only appeared in the lore and not as a playable map.

One thing I realise about severe depression is that the only thing I enjoy right now is to add adding missing roads in a foreign country on OpenStreetMap. There is nothing for me to do right now I cannot find a good video game to recreate the M25 motorway at real scale. Worse still, I still don't kn...

I have looked into one of the factbooks, and it looks like the URL of two images in the factbook start with the insecure HTTP instead of the secure HTTPS, which causes the privacy warning.

I asked The Northern Light to see what they can do.

We have recently decided to temporarily remove COVID-19 out of Minoan roleplay, not only due to the current state of my mental health, but also due to the fast evolving situation that made it impossible for me to keep up with, without risking another visit to the crisis team. That's the problem with...

If one wishes for all entertainment to be non-political, then how would be get something iconic as Les Misérables?

Politics may not suitable for a very poor mind like me, but it does have some use in entertainment.

isn't it like $1000, i have no idea how people have that amount of disposable income for a single video card or why they would need such an expensive one Let alone buy the first one that comes up in the search results. It turns out that there are many versions of the RTX 2080 and also the RTX 2080 ...

If I recall correctly, the technical team do not plan to end compliance notifications, but I think it is possible to move it to the notices system, and I support the move, since most of the compliance telegrams do get discarded anyway.

I have a Noctua CPU cooler on my shoebox computer, and the CPU seems to cope well with 3ds Max. I am not yet comfortable with liquid cooling: spillage is my biggest fear because of the potential for irreparable damage to the sensitive components.

There is an ID number system that is in use for some features like telegrams and trading cards, but I imagine that quite a lot of features still use the nation name as the identifier.

I imagine that it will take a lot of work to completely transition to using ID numbers only.

I think it is worth considering a review of the off-topic sections to give real-world politics and current affairs a dedicated place in the forum for the genre of this website: perhaps option 2 from https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?t=444026. I think that idea could also reduce the press...

I think NexDock is a bit too limited for me. I know that the best platform for video games and professional editing is a parts-based computer, and earlier this year I learned how to fit standard parts into a shoebox sized Fractal Design Core 500. Nothing has convinced me to use the smartphone beyond...

I think political ideologies certainly meets the criteria for a recurring debate, although I can see why the LWDT and RWDT were locked on the basis of being too broad (and also too generalised). For example, I recently visited a country where politics is mainly based on a treaty from 99 years ago. I...

When one is so familiar with computers, it is easy to assume that everyone will know to spot a shady executable from day one. However, S Mode has a lot of problems, such as the Edge and Bing lock-in: that could easily lead to yet another antitrust showdown between Brussels and Redmond, with Cupertin...
