Miles? No, but you don't have to worry about the airfare. Blackouts depend on what you did.

Shame. It's a great use of eggs. I remember you, how are you astro? Good. Been busy. Shame. It's a great use of eggs. Goodness. I haven't seen you around in quite a long time. IIRC, I was but a bratty kid when I last interacted with you. How has your life been? You were studying the classics, right...

Win some and lose some like the rest of the country. From what I've gathered, Liberal justices will be taking control of North Carolina. Are they appointed or elected? Elected. The full slate of statewide Democratic judicial candidates won, including the first openly LGBT+ North Carolinian to be el...

It's not like a concession is legally binding. Gore did it.

I'd a like to see a source for that. A practical rule, certainly, but an actual rule of the House or the Senate? I would be surprised. I can't find a definite source. I remember doing a mock Congress thing in AP Gov't and Politics in high school and we had to caucus as either the Democrats and Repu...

I mean, sure, but we're well into the realm of academic looks into wild hypothetical situations here. And there is a possible path onto committees in this case: I could see it as part of a deal with Schumer, sort of "stealth-caucusing" with the Democrats to protect her reputation. Again, ...

If Murkowski leaves her party I could see her going the independent route. Of course, caucusing with Democrats would essentially be the same as becoming one; I confess I don't actually know what happens as far as control if we have 50 in the Democratic caucus, 49 in the Republican caucus, 1 with no...

She did, her state party successfully primaried her and she won as a write-in anyway, which is, I think, basically the equivalent of a license that says, "Lisa Murkowski can do whatever the fuck she wants." Schumer, as I said, would have to be an idiot to not at least try to tempt her awa...

I think Murkowski is definitely the most likely Senator to leave her caucus. The party establishment already hates her. Frankly, if the night turns out 50-50, Chuck Schumer would have to be an idiot not to offer Murkowski whatever gavel she wants if she'll flip. Did she not lose a primary and win a...

I think 50/50 is going to happen. And think that Manchin or Collins will flip parties or go independent. Manchin and Collins are both pretty invested in their parties as institutions and, especially, as part of their identities and neither one is that likely to flip. Murkowski is the closest thing ...

The Tsuranga Conundrum is probably the best episode of Doctor Who Chibnall's ever written. Exciting, dramatic, funny, and excellently presented. I'd have made the alien a bit scarier, but you can't have it all. It's just a shame the 13th Doctor is such an irritating little shit. Any thoughts on whe...

New poll up.

I thought that was really good, I agree that it's probably the best episode of Doctor Who yet this season, and very strong coming after last week, which was quite good too. I still miss Steven Moffat but this is very fun.
