As I can guarentee that I would not be alive today if not for the use of the nukes, I absolutely support the use of them. I had one grandfather in Changi and on the Thai Burma Railway who was in the medical corp with Sir Weary, and the other was in training exercises for the invasion plans - and was...

So, I accept that housing prices here (Melbourne, Australia) are completely insane, and that we have a higher base line pay structure... but I was thinking that the $285 was very cheap on a per week basis... the last place i rented my share was $800 a month for a mid suburban house, and that was fiv...

If I remember correctly, gun-related suicides far outnumber gun-related homicides, and almost all of those suicides either purchased their guns legally or were living with someone who purchased their guns legally. No one would go through the trouble of going to the black market just so they can sho...

So, does anyone know the stats on suicides by lawful gun owners?

I can find stats on gun related suicides, but nothing on whether the person committing the suicide purchased their gun legally (through all th hoops as Master Shake puts it)

I found this article: http://www.econstor.eu/bitstream/10419/45659/1/618473203.pdf discusses suicides vs homicides in the USA. Their data is from 2006, so getting a little old now, but as far as i can tell, no substantial changes to either increase or decrease the rates have occurred. They state 32k...

so finding unbiased stats on this is proving harder than I had hoped :), how do people feel about the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime? It uses the nationally reported stats for homicides from each country. http://www.unodc.org/gsh/en/data.html Latest data is 2012, and states: USA: 4.7 / 10...

i have no issue playing NWOD/OWOD without dice, you jsut need to ensure the players are people who are on occasion willing to lose. Some of the best RPing i have seen was after a string of 5 or 6 critical fails on a D20. But then my group usually scripts out a scene's intentions with dice and then t...

It is true... you could do that, and many times when i have needed something like this i have... but thats also like saying i dont need more than 3 dice total. (D8, D12, D20). - It's easier to have the standard 7 dice range (4, 6, 8, 10, 10(0), 12, 20) and to have more than one of each for many game...

Not questioning whther you - or anyone else - does (or doesnt) think that smoking impacts your health... just asking whether you think the new US ads would have an impact on your descision to quit or not, and whether the Australian ones would.

My view is that the battleship is intercepting the Patrol boat...

It could be read that the patrol boat didnt notice your smaller boat, considering the battleship, and the battleship is responding to the patrol boat's hail.

In Victoria (Australia) we have 0.05 %BAC allowed, and they do random breath testing on roads. (Effectively close a main road and test every driver passing the checkpoint - this can include freeways and other dual carraigeways as well as more normal roads) Basically "everyone" knows that i...
