Let me remind you if your home was destroyed and your country was in the middle of violent conflict, you would probably flee your country. "My country sucks" is not grounds for asylum unless the nation that sucks is Marxist or an ally (e.g. Venezuela, Vietnam after the war). "My peop...

Where Should We Resettle Refugees In The US?

In light of the capital of North Dakota, Bismark, barring new refugee arrivals in the future , a new question has come to mind; if we resettle refugees, where should we? While of course there is the argument we shouldn't resettle refugees at all, if we were to, where should we? Of course some people...

Smaller cities would be a better idea, as they tend to be growing in terms of the job market. States like Utah, Arizona, and maybe even Montana would be better states for resettlement. While Montana doesn't have much major job growth, Utah and Arizona do. Hmmm. Not sure if my city would be consider...

I go up north to this tiny town called Markdale in Mid-western Ontario every summer. Around 1250 live there. 25 people, oh Lord. All the jobs are taken, and no new ones can be created save for several stores opening up, which hasn't happened for years. The town I used to live in had around ~900 peo...

Seriously depending on how small the town is, even the arrival of a single family can throw a balance out of whack. I go up north to this tiny town called Markdale in Mid-western Ontario. North Dakota is a horrible state to put refugees in, coming from a refugee advocate. A better state probably would be North Carolina. While not exactly hospitable, job growth is high there, and there is plenty of demand for retail jobs. On the more hospitable side would be Washington state, which h...

Well, that's the point is it not ? If the religion teaches truth, religion and science are not incompatable. Science might get things wrong a few times but eventually they will agree. If the religion teaches falsehoods,it and science will clash. Except for one thing, if a religion just happens to be...

As a muslim, our religion has made hundreds of discoveries. While I can not say our religion is exactly fully pro-science, we have some scientific aspects to it. Yeah, it could be compatible.

As a religious person, who has dealt with lent, I have three questions to ask you: What exactly is extreme fasting? As an Orthodox Christian, I must ask, what's "extreme fasting"? I would consider of fasting of us Orthodox to be extreme, and we're not allowed to eat any product which come...
