The UIT is a collection of former democracies now ruled over by a quasi-theocratic expansionist empire, created by a dictator with an insane and impossible vision of a world utopia. He dreams of a world where everyone is good, virtuous and dutiful, and all nations are united peacefully under one flag. He dreams of a world where the shallow hedonistic consumerism of modern societies is replaced with a richer, more purposeful life of high culture, fanatical loyalty and humble loving servitude to the glorious state. He believes he has a manifest destiny to unite all of humanity

Unfortunately, he is a deluded madman prepared to go to any lengths to achieve his vision of world peace. His political opponents point out that his rise to power was disproportionally influenced by car bombings.
