RNN Report:
A cargo Zeppelin en route to Portland Raysia was attacked by air pirates today, killing its crew of 42 Adidas Employees and downing their shipment of shoes and clothing with it. No one has claimed responsibility yet, but witnesses and recorders identified the following logo on the pirate aircraft:
This could be a corporate tactic to somehow boost sales by literally eliminating the competition. Police aircraft have increased patrols.

Two men enter the room, and Gary raises an eyebrow, then smiles as he recognizes them. "Ahh, boys! I saw the news on TV, very nice work..."

Nike pounded his fist on the table and pointed to the image on the screen,
"Oh, umm, well, we couldn't-- uhh, well I didn't kno-- aww man..."

The tall pilot fell to the ground, dead, with a bloody hole in his head. Gary nike, holding a smocking glock in his hand, looks to the Shorter pirate that was standing beside the dead man. "You've got another hit tomorrow afternoon... and take that damn logo off your planes!"

Knootian transport convoy pirated in the Pacific
A small Knootian cargoship carriying mythrill from Menelmacar to the Endless Island has been hijacked in mid-ocean yesterday by unknown pirates. The pirates took nothing and left without any gain following quick deployment by a navy ship of Ruhr that happened to be in the area. However they shot crewmember Arnold Tanus, aged 34, when he tried to resist the boarding.
Shipping corporations are expected to take measures such as convoying transports in the area. They have also asked for the government to deploy navy assets to defend commercial interests.
The government is, in turn, considering to ask the UTP-Co Defence Group to take measures. With competition on the international markets soaring due to the recession there has been little from the UTP. However a government spokesman insisted that no formal request has been made at this time however.
OOC Gah I hate to do this Knoot, but change that to from the Hermes Facilty, and I don't have Mithril. Still thats unimportant, It could be any of several rare metals, hell maybe even Mithril if it can form on other Planets or in space.
The reason for the Hermes Facilty shift is I don't have a set Location and actually reside in space, but we operate an office from the Hermes facilty with a Webgate there for transporting in materials. (and shipping stuff out of course)

His Omniferocity has ordered increased satellite and air coverage of the seas and airspace for 300 kilometers around Forlorn Hope. Naval presence will also be increased in response to the potential threat.
All air and sea commercial traffic in the central to southern Pacific is invited to transit through Forlorn Hope's Continental Defense Zone for safety.

OOC:If you need a place for the pirates to get rid of the goods, Zerni would be the perfect place, theres no Tariffs, no regulations on businesses, don't need a license for anything and nearly everything is legal and the Extremely few things that are not legal are legal with a small bribe. They wouldn't care where the goods came from and best of all extremely small income tax only for citizens.

Due to increased piracy, the Syskeyian Air Force will be increasing its fighter patrols and being told to watch out for NikeTown planes.
Ditto for the Syskeyian Navy.

OOC: I think this as good a time as any to tell you all, The Raysian Air Defense Force has no jurisdiction below 2000 feet over urban and suburban areas. Police are the only ones that can fly in the cities, and, well, they're not too great ;) So Private escort groups etc are the only people who can be trusted to guard your zeppelins and transport planes.

OOC: I only ever played the first Crimson Skies (Why didn't they bring out the sequel to the PC? WHY?!) So bear with me. I can't remeber what the X-winged planes with the rear propellers are called so I'll just call the Destructors.

"Local police patrol sir, they're warning us to change course. Heavy pirate attacks have been reported in this sector, sir."
"Lieutenant, we have dual heavy cannons in the fore and aft gun emplacements alongwith a broadside capacity that could outshoot a destroyer, enough machine guns to turn any passing pirate into a lead factory and a flying complement of seven Destructor aircraft. We have nothing to worry about. Fly on."
"Even so, sir, considering the value of the cargo, don't you think I should radio for assistance."
The captain sighed, "Very well, notify any other vessels in the area and form a convoy. This had better not waste any time. The cargo must get through."

Commander Hilton laid down the newspaper before, lit a cigar and then sat back. The two officers sat in front of him started to reconcider their careers, however their thoughts were halted when Hilton spoke. "Hmm, its seems that air pirates are now active on earth, the Imperial War Office has already given me orders to assit in 'dealing' with these fools. So I want the Zepplin Busters preped and ready to go by 1300 hours, that is all."
