WHAT ?!
You make this cup a week after first and we will add 2 years?
NS World Cup is each 2 Months and We add 4 Years to the age and that makes sense! But adding 2 years for each week?

OOC: If I may interject here... every nation operates on a different calendar. Some add four years for every World Cup, some add two. I remember someone doing an odd thing of adding five years for every two Cups. Others RP in real time. Personally, I RP so it's four years between two editions of the same Olympics.

My point is that everyone RPs differently, time-wise, and Urumon, you have no right to restrict how someone RPs.

WORKERS' STAR: SPORT
The Isles' leading sports paper...

OCTINSTINE HOLD ISLES TO A DRAW
Things aren't looking so well for the defending champions, as Octinstine, who last competition failed miserably in the group held them to a 2-2 draw. The fans were quick to criticise the refereeing, as they usually do. But this time at least, it seems that their criticisms may have some backing.
"Their second goal was blatantly offside," said one angry fan.
We will now analyse each half and describe the events:

First Half:
The defending champions kicked off the opening game of this tournament, full of confidence to repeat their success, but poor defence led to them going 1-0 down after just 5 minutes. The Isles came back with an excellent cross by Noble that was then headered in by Squires, but Octinstine scored a controversial goal that was shown on television replay to be at least 5 metres offside. The Isles were 2-1 down at half time.
Second Half:
Octinstine kicked off the second half, and were beginning to show signs of tiredness. They made some crucial mistakes but the Aergad forwards, to the agony of the supporters, failed to take any of the easy opportunities offered them. The Isles managed to rescue a point eventually, by a sneaky chip shot, but it was too little, too late and they failed to get near the goal in the final ten minutes.

Speaking after the match, captain W. Noble said the game went so badly because of pressure.
"Because of our win in the first tournament, everyone is expecting us to do well again. I don't think the players were comfortable with this. I know I wasn't"
We will be looking forward to the Isles' next game, where they will be facing their rivals, the Windows Vista Business.

The National
Stuffed Taxidermists smash Meguroko in 2nd Commonwealth Cup
In their first game of the 2nd Commonwealth Cup, The Stuffed Taxidermists National Soccer team has smashed a team from a nation called Meguroko. 'I am very pleased with this result and look forward to a finals appearance this time around' said Mark Railes 'Meguroko should not be ashamed of this loss, they are only a new team and will settle into games eventually. We ourselves were lucky not to get smashed around last time'.

The Isles' leading sports paper...

ISLES WIN AGAINST VISTA
In todays group stage match, the Isles have triumphed against Windows Vista Business in a thrilling game. This shows once again, the triumphs of socialism against the evil greed of capitalism. We will now analyse each half to determine how the game went.

First Half:
Things started well for the Isles with an early goal by Martin. But Vista, cool and collected found the back of the net only three minutes later. They held this lead until half-time, when manager S. Walters decided some substitutions were needed. He brought on Lord and Mason to try and give the Isles an attacking boost.
Second Half:
With the extra energy injected into the game by Lord and Mason, the Isles quickly equalised to bring the score to 2-2. But it looked as though it would be another disappointing draw for the Isles until ten minutes from time, when Noble scored from a corner. Vista would not settle for another goal when the opportunity came, and a poor tackle against Squires gave the Isles a free kick. It was taken by Wilson, who chipped the ball over the wall and curved it down into the corner of the net. Final score: 4-2

Speaking after the game, manager S. Walters said, "this is exactly what we needed. A good win against a tough opponent to finally bring the team to life. I expect us to make it out the group stage now.
Captain, W. Noble said, "it was a good win, and one we needed to get us on good form. I hope we can beat Urumon especially. Though we obviously hope for a win against the Free Swiss States, who we are playing next."

The Megurokan Daily
SPORTS

Victory!

We did it! Meguroko wins! The score was Meguroko 1-Sunthor 0! We got a shutout! The goal was scored by Tom Drabo, his second of the Tournament. Midway through the First Half, Meguroko's Sam Noxovich was injured. He is optional for match 3. Don Dovo, todays goalie, will also start. Lars Verknervossen had this to say " Yes! the guys knew they could do it, and they did it" and " Sunthor played very well, we only scored on a Penalty Kick." The rains could also not stop the 7500 in attendence.

The Free Kick
Hossaim 2 from 2

Hossaim 1---1 Stuffed Taxidermist
Wells 71 Ronazo 35

On matchday 2 of the Commonwealth cup, Hossaim faced Stuffed Taxidermists. Fully expected to lose, Hossaim went in to the match after a 0-0 draw in matchday 1. Stuffed Taxidermists dominated early play, smacking the post before Ronazo scored in the 35th. After a half time talk, Hossaim came out energized and pushed them to the limit, forcing great saves out of Manfini. In the 71st, Emerton sent Smith free down the wing and his cross was headed off the post by Steboric and the losseball was tucked away by Wells. After that, Johnson was brought off for Beck and Hossaim held on for a 1-1 draw.
