East Wind Cold War RP

Welcome to the post-World War II world. In this alternate historical setting, the custom nations of players sprung up during or after the 2nd World War but the main powers kept intact after the war. It's your job as the leader of a minor nation to steer it to glory or to ruin, you are not the top dog, prepare to face consequences for your actions. The GM controls all the major countries and simulates their actions throughout the Cold War. This is not just a war RP, common events do happen.

The Republic of Sovereign Eurasian States (RSES) is a large nation spanning the continents of Europe and Asia. The RSES’ origins go back to 1941. Following the invasion of the Soviet Union (USSR) by the Nazi Reich during World War II, Josef Stalin,  the leader of the USSR was assassinated. Amidst the power struggle that followed, one man rose to the top: Georgy Zhukov. A unifying figure, Zhukov was praised across the world from the likes of many such as Dwight Eisenhower and Bernard Montgomery. However, when Zhukov fell ill and passed away in 1942, revolution struck. The revolution first began in the city of Leningrad, eventually spreading to Moscow and Stalingrad. The spread was quick like a wildfire, and soon, the nation broke apart into the Russian Republic, the Baltic League, the Republic of Caucasus, and Ukraine. War, however, was far from over. They still had one major threat to face: Nazi Germany. With the help of the allies, Germany was able to be defeated in 1947. Realizing their weakness alone and strength together, the nations faced a choice. The had to decide whether they should stay independent or unify under a single banner once more. They chose the second option, and the RSES was born. Since then, the nation has worked closely with the United States, the United Kingdom, and the rest of Europe to make the world a better place to live in. Today, with a population of 300 million, the RSES is on it’s way to prosperity. The nation is ruled by Zinoviy Ivanov of the Social Democrat Party, whose government is situated in Moscow

The Third Hellenic Republic of Greece

The Third Hellenic Republic of Greece is a Democratic Republic located in Greece with the capitol of the aforementioned republic being Athens, the current leader of the Republic is Leonidas Appikesteloi. The current population of the Republic is 8,550,000. The weapons used by Greece are a mix of different weapons from France, England, Austria, Belgium, and the United States.

On 10 October 1935, a few months after he suppressed a Venizelist Coup in March 1935, Georgios Kondylis, the former Venizelist stalwart, abolished the Republic in another coup de Etat and declared the monarchy restored. A rigged vote confirmed the regime change and King George II returned.King George II immediately relieved Kondylis and appointed Professor Konstantinos Demertzis as interim Prime Minister. Venizelos in exile urged an end to the conflict over the monarchy in view of the threat to Greece from the rise of Fascist Italy. His successors as Liberal leader, Themistoklis Sophoulis and Georgios Papandreou, agreed, and the restoration of the monarchy was accepted. The 1936 elections resulted in a hung parliament, with the Communists holding the balance. As no government could be formed, Demertzis continued on. At the same time, a series of deaths left the Greek political scene in disarray: Kondylis died in February, Venizelos in March, Demertzis in April and Tsaldaris in May. The road was now clear for Ioannis Metaxas, who had succeeded Demertzis as interim Prime Minister.Metaxas, a retired royalist general, believed that a democratic government was necessary to prevent social conflict and, especially, quell the rising power of the Communists. The ensuing government was platformed on Democracy, yet it was still in largely in favor of the aristocrats.

Greece suffered comparatively much more than most Western European countries during the Second World War due to a number of factors. Heavy resistance led to immense German reprisals against civilians. Greece was also dependent on food imports, and a British naval blockade coupled with transfers of agricultural produce to Germany led to famine. It is estimated that the Greek population declined by seven percent during the Second World War. Greece experienced hyperinflation during the war. In 1943, prices were thirty-thousand percent higher compared to those of 1940; in 1944, prices were a hundred-sixty million percent higher compared to the 1940 prices. This was compounded by the country's disastrous civil war from 1944-1950. The Greek economy was in an extremely poor state in 1950 (after the end of the Civil War), with its relative position dramatically affected. In that year Greece had a per capita GDP of $1,951, which was well below that of countries like Portugal, Poland, and even Mexico. Greece’s per capita GDP was comparable to that of countries like Bulgaria, Japan, or Morocco. Over the past 15 years Greece has grown much faster than most of the countries that had comparable per capita GDP’s in 1950, almost in a match with Japan's GPD.

Hopefully, with good leaderships and successful reconstruction of the economy and government structure, Greece will be stable once again.

A History Lesson

After the legal purge in Norway in 1946, Sven Arntzen, a Norwegian council member, appoints Marius Bard as Prime Minister, and in honor of his late friend Mats Berg, who was killed by firing squad during the German Occupation of Norway, urges the new nation to be recognized as Bergamont. Bergamont's new political system derives from the British Executive: King Haakan VII throne Council and Legislature: Bergamoni Parliament. The capital city of Bergamont has been renamed Charnsuka and much of it's culture is much unchanged as the Bergamoni people are adjusting to their new life under a different and safer society and the currency is Kroner. Bergamont controls much of the North Sea and many of it's wealth comes from the oil abundance located there.

The Fourth French Republic finally capitualates!

The Third French Empire is the successor to the first and second French Empires. As Michel Debré began loosing french grasp on its colonial holdings in 1962 the great people of France realised that if our once great country is to reclaim its former glories there must be révolution. Our great country has been split in two for the past 3 years, but finally the siege of Toulouse has ended in a Royal Victory giving control back to the rightful Napoleon Rule of France. The new Emperor of france is Napoleon VI who, in all of his greatness has put rebuilding our country at the highest priority. There is a recovering food shortage in the previously Republican areas and many in the Royalist areas are homeless due to the filthy republicans bombing our cities with no regard for french life. The Army, Navy, and Air Force have all suffered extensive losses from the Civil War but have gained much experience in the ways of combat and tactics. While on a moment's call if it comes time to defend France most of the brave men who fought for King and Country are now having to readapt to normal life and recover from the horrors of war, If you are in a position to help these men the Emperor sends his request that you do for you are the ones these men risked their lives for.

The Imperial Kingdom of Grandes Terres

The Imperial Kingdom of Grandes Terres is located north of the United States (Canada) and is the second largest country in the world in terms of land area, however the entire country is not habitable with 90% of the nations 110 million inhabitants living in the southern-most provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. The country has a significant French-speaking population of 24.2 million (22%) who consider it their main language, these people almost exclusively reside in Quebec with only a million living elsewhere in the country. The nations capital is Ottawa, the Prime Minister is Conservative Party leader Hugh Wordsworth, the King is Augustus of Ontario and the nation is a parliamentary democracy.

During the World Wars Grandes Terres was not prepared to get fully involved so it spent the years of the wars building its military to the size that it is today so that it is prepared if another World War takes place. The nation was officially founded in 1816 when it negotiated its independence with Great Britain in a peaceful and democratic manner with a vote on the nations independence. Due to Grandes Terres' former status as a British colony it has a great relationship with the country and both countries benefit from trans-atlantic trade between each other.

The country has a large military budget and an active military force of 544,500 and a reserve force of 1,270,500 (NS Tracker) The country has a large naval force which has separate hubs for the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic, in total it has 15 fleets which all have different tasks and are located at different parts of the country, the country only has one Arctic fleet however. The Airforce has 36 squadrons which are in bases across the country to evenly spread them incase of an attack, 10 of the squadrons are on aircraft carriers so that they can be deployed away from Grandes Terres itself.
